I just got a laptop for school, Apple Powerbook
I love it, im really glad I switched from PC, it has everything PC has. Except more
Very fast too, I got the 15’ model with G4 1.5ghz,512mb 2700 DDR Memory,Radeon 9700 128vram card (incase I decide to game) and an 80 gig 5200rpm hard drive. It’s a beast
Anyone else lovin the macs?
Oh and one question, Who here is on OSX? when you go on tranceaddict and type, does it get all slow? like for me.. its weird, when im typing a new response the keyboard reacts very slow, and i checked, Camino uses like 80% CPU for some reason, but only when i click in the box to type, only forum that it happens with, same with Safari, but IE it works fine in. but Im using Camino because of tab support, either way it’s the same on Safari. Is it the same for you guys with OSX? |

| i got a 15" G4 Power book too man, and yeah they are pretty cool. They are slow with something, thats the only problem i have with them. I still got a PC desktop @ home, i guess i only got the powerbook cos it was free from work. :D as for your OS, u have the latest OS X update? u might wanna get that and see how it goes? otherwise it might just be the mac, for some reason they can be slow with some things... :conf: |

I have a 17" PowerBook G4 1.33 with the 5200 RPM 80 GB HDD and it's wicked. And yes, only here on TA does the typing become very slow when posting. But other than that, everything else works out fine. You may want to try out Internet Explorer for browsing TA and see if that fixes it... I just can't be arsed to bother. :)
Welcome to the better side, lol. Amazing machine... pretty damn stable. Enjoy. :)

Absolutely! I switched to mac a year ago and I will never go back to PC. The OS X platform is secure, beautiful, stable and very user friendly. Exposé is a revelation. Right now Im on a PC for the summer, and I miss my mac so much. I had tear the windows button away as I was reaching for the command key all the time.
No spyware and viruses! Thats another thing that makes the mac superior. The only thing I miss is 3d Studio max, but there are good alternatives in Lightwave, Cinema 4d and Maya.

I love Safari, its a wonderful browser, but strangely I get this problem too and so far I've only noticed it on TA.
Btw, does anyone know where I can download a decent OS X theme for XP? The blue and green is hurting my eyes. |

one thing that bothers me bout all the pro-Mac people (i'm a PC man myself)
while yes, PCs can get viruses and spyware and maybe mac's cant, still that doesn't mean you will get spyware and like that!
my computer still runs fine because i treat it well
i wholeheartedly agree that for someone who doesn't know much about computers, macs are perfect
however for anyone else PCs just seem superior |

Of course you can have a PC without spyware and viruses, but you can't be completely safe on a PC.
And it depends what you want to use your computer for. If you are into graphic design/video like someone said the mac is a better alternative. But if you are into other things like 3d, games etc the PC has better software. It depends what you want to do with your computer, but its not like you can say that Macs are for amateurs. |

I've got an Ipod, only Apple material I have thus far :p
Though, whenever it's time to get a new comp (which won't be soon, but hey, it'll give me time to save money :p) I'm definately gonna buy a PowerBook. |
