whoever doesnt go to see him is a moron. just saw him last night in nyc. best show i've been to in a LONNNNNNNNNNNNNG time. probably ever. he rocks it so hard. he played alot of acid and tech stuff. and about the last hour was just hard ass, dirty bass breaks. he killed it for real. so get excited. i would love to come down to ga to see him again. i guess i'll just have to wait till the dude is in nyc again. but enjoy yourselfs and rock it out!

ok ...but seriously, good night. Review later!

It's Scott again.

Zabiela is definitely a DJ I couldn't keep my eyes off of. The effects he was doing was amazing but I felt they were distracting. Not much flow in his set despite how drunk I was trying to get.

Yeha I know alot of peeps that feel the same way. Technically they think he's amazing but overall don't really feel him. Oh well can't wait for Thurs!!!!!!!!!!
TranceLuver4evr
I had a lot of fun, but like Scott said there's really no flow in the set so I wasn't really into it

Technical wise, Zabiela has done the craziest I've ever seen in my life. Scratching and Sampling with the CDJ-1000 WHILE the other hand is on the EFX-500. He could really make the crowd goes wild with all the effects and such

I left early cuz I was very tired but I had the feeling that Javi will get kicked out cuz he was so drunk

Great pics btw :disbelief

Great partying with the usuals again :D. Nice seeing Whitesmoke in the club, I'm waiting for u to post the pics ;)

I'm going to have to disagree with Scottaculous and TranceLuver3evr for the first time here.

I thought his set was absolutely amazing. It wasn't just the typical DJ finding the queue point and cross-fading between vinyls that we've heard already over and over again for 2 hours. Zabiela showed his amazing technical skill through his insane scratching, his awesome sense of humor (which was apparent in most of his samples which i'll describe below), and his improv ability. If anyone here plays drums/percussion, you'd also appreciate how tight his stratches, loops, and samples were (like i did).

Overall, I loved some of the samples he used last night. The first track opened with a repeating robotic voice going "Base"..."Base"..."Base"..."Base"... I don't think many people there realized that it was the voice from the "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" flash animation. Second, he looped Christopher Walkin's best line from the Blue Oyster Cult skit off of Saturday Night Live. "I got a FEVAH, and the ONLY prescription is more cowbell!" Towards the end of the night he played Blur - Song 2. And the crowd went nuts, myself included. GOOD song! The original is only 2 mins long, i'm glad he made it a bit longer!

And i have to mention James Zabiela's shirt from last night. It was god damn hysterical. It read:

Hiroshima '45
Chernobyl '86
Windows '95

WOOHOO!!!!

Shamez214
the blur - song 2 track is a remix. blur - song 2 (ivan gough and grant smilie mix). and the cowbell track is dirty gringos - cowbell. but most likely [knowing him] he used the sample from that track over other tracks. glad to see someone enjoyed his set. :toothless

From what I remember.......Great spinning.
He was tottally tearing it up.

I am truly a fan now. I think he's got to be one of the dj's that is going to change the scene.
He's technical skill is truly amazing.

ONly thing is....once again- i dont remember half of the set.
I was kicked out haha

I blame sofia though...i was already drunk as hell and she bought me a long island ice tea.....i dont even remember it tho...so whatever.
but yeah- that put me overboard.

oh vell!

c'est la vie, no?

i promise i wont pass out again! SERIOUSLY THIS TIME! lol :)
