I had a BK record that was a little warped and made the needle jump. So I searched thru the forums and found that you could bend them back (using heat)... well I figured I could do it w/o the heat, just a little flexing back and forth...

DONT DO WHAT I DID

cause the record is no more....

hehe

learn from this idiot.

meh, it didnt matter, I got the record with the turntables... one side was playable, the other wasnt. It was a good track but I knew there was a chance of breakage.

if you have a warped record....BEND IT. I do this all the time to records that are ed up. You can crank a record into a taco over your knee and it wont break. you can easily bend it enough so that its playable if its warped. Even if its a REAL bad warp, just bend it before you put it on the table and it should take care of it spinning to freely on the deck.

Ive posted this same comment in every one of the 300 threads about warped records....shame some people are still ing their up with heat.

You're a in' idiot!:whip: Its not smart at all to bend the vinyl. They break very easily. The simplist form of fixing a warped record is blow drying both side for about 5 minutes and then putting them between two plated of glass. Put something pretty heavy on top of the glass to weigh it down. ALso put it on a smooth floor, like a tile floor.

Once again, don't give stupid advice. Yes, it was very stupid.

did you not care to read what he wrote? or could you just not comprehend all 7 lines of it?

He bent it without heat, much like you suggested, and it ed it up worse. Im guessing broke it, but he didnt say exactly what happened.

using heat is the most reliable tried and tested method for fixing records. bending is very risky as its not very precice as the record will respond diferantly to bending at diferant temperatures.

there is a thread in here i did a while back with a method that i got from a few hardcore audiphiles for unwarping. i highly recomend it.

i'm still scared of ing up my records too much to play..

some of my warped records are ones that cannot be replaced :( one day i might get the bottle to do it but until then they can stay warped... i can manage

Is it the sun or the heat that warp's records.. cuz I’ve left my records in some pretty hot place's and they don't seem to get warped.. but when I leave one in my car. were the sun light can get to it.. it seems to be warped a lot more.. I've also bent some of my warp records.. it helps a little.. A hair dryer would probably work better. And who cares if u bends them or not. (The record is already messed up.. lol)
