Newcastle have just got kluivert and Robson says that he believes Newcastle have got the best strikeforce in the prem, going against Benitez's comments the other day saying that Liverpool have got the best strikeforce!! Been a lot of signings upfront over the summer, and im sure theres more to come, but

Who do you think has the best strikeforce in the PREM?

1. Arsenal (Henri, Reyes, Bergkamp, Van Persie, Aldiare, Jeffers)
2. Aston Villa (Angel, Vassell, Carlton Cole, Allback)
3. Birmingham (Forsell, Heskey, Morrison, John
4. Blackburn (Dickov, Stead, Yorke, Janson, Gallagher)
5. Bolton (Davies, Ferdinand, Bridges, Pederson)
6. Charlton (Di Canio, Euell, Johansson)
7. Chelsea (Mutu, Drogba, Gudjohnson, Kezman)
8. Crystal Palace (Shipperley, Johnson, Freedman)
9. Everton (Rooney, Radzinski, Ferguson, Bent, Campbell)
10. Fulham (Cole, Boa Morte, Mcbride, John, Salva)
11. Liverpool (Owen, Cisse, Baros, Pongolle)
12. Man City (Anelka, Fowler, Wanchope, Macken)
13. Man Utd (Van Nistelrooy, Smith, Saha, Forlan, Bellion)
14. Middlesbrough (Hasselbaink, Viduka, Nemeth, Job, Maccarone)
15. Newcastle (Shearer, Kluivert, Ameobi, Bellamy, Chopra)
16. Norwich (Svensson, Bentley, Henderson, Huckerby)
17. Portsmouth (Yakubu, LuaLua, Mornar, Todorov)
18. Southampton (Beattie, Phillips, Ormorod, Crouch)
19. Spurs (Keane, Kanoute, Defoe, Yeates)

With recent additions Drogba and Kezman, I'm gonna have to go with Chelski.

Close shave between Arsenal and Man Utd...

The rest are unproven but on paper I'd say Liverpool then Chelsea... Had to go with United, Henri has been doing most of the work for Arsenal, without him they are half the team...

I picked Arsenal due to their youth/experience balance. I guess you should add Jefers into the mix for them as they cant seem to get him to leave. Hard not to pick Liverpool though but Arsenal gets the edge just for Henry.

Difficult to say because Cisse, Kluivert, Kezman, Drogba etc all have no experience in this league, so in their first season things could go either way.

I can't see Chelsea having any problems up front this season though, they have 4 top class strikers, no other club has that.

Easy Liverpool.

We've got now 2 proven world class strikers(owen and baros) and a talent similar to anelka in cisse. Not to mention another diamond in the making in pongolle.

Chelsea have kezman(unproven in other leagues) and drogba.. but I think drogba's somewhat overrated after all this commotion.Mutu.. I'm not impressed by what i've seen.

ManU has to rely on RVN.Arsenal has Henry .(the other strikers need time to settle in.)

Funny how no one mentioned newcastle. They do have a class striker in kluivert and a constant goal scorer in shearer.

I dunno about the Drogba. I saw him play twice this year, once against Montpellier where he scored a killer volley set up by Marlet and the other agaist Liverpool where he was probably the best player on the pitch. I also fortunately managed to watch Cisse play and in that game he was a bit of a dissapointment. Im hoping Liverpool have signed the right man.. only time will tell!

My verdict on Newcastle's strike force:

Shearer was the second highest league scorer last season with 22 league goals but looked ineffective towards the end of the season, no surprise given that, at 34, he played more games than Henry or Van Nistelrooy. The arrival of Kluivert may mean he is rested more often this season which could prevent him burning out like last season. Kluivert just had a disappointing season with Barcelona missing a lot of games due to injury, but nevertheless managed 8 goals in 11 starts. World class if he can recapture his form, he only turned 28 this month and has averaged a goal every other game throughout his career, and is also Holland's all-time top scorer. People question whether he can play alongside Shearer, but he can drop off the striker and link up with midfield, technically gifted with both feet Kluivert and Shearer might work well, but it remains to be seen. Bellamy is one of the fastest players in the Premiership and a good technical player, also seems to have sorted out his shooting. But crucially he has major injury problems, missed most of last season receiving knee surgery. When he returned he scored 4 goals in 7 games but then was injured again, missing the rest of the season, this time with hamstring problems. If he can stay the whole season he will be a big player for Newcastle. Ameobi has come up through the youth system and developed a lot last season, scoring some crucial late-season goals such as those against Chelsea and Liverpool. The arrival of Kluivert puts him back down the pecking order, but with Bellamy's injury problems he is likely to get more chances again this season. In the case of a serious injury/suspension crisis; Robert used to be a striker at PSG, Dyer scored 2 goals past Southampton in his only game up front last season, while Milner is one of England's most promising young players and can play up front. Chopra is a young striker but will probably go out on loan again this season due to the arrival of Kluivert.

I'm quite confident Drogba will have a big impact on this season. I haven't seen much of him but he has the qualities to fit in well in the Premiership, strong, fast and an excellent shot, as well as good with the ball at his feet. May have problems adapting to what will probably be a 4-4-2 formation.

Kezman I'm less sure about, although he is no more unproven than Cisse, both have scored shedloads of goals in mediocre leagues. I've only seen Kezman in his two games against Newcastle and a couple of games in the Dutch league and in none of those games did he really impress me, but I'll reserve my judgement on him. The first game against Newcastle he scored early in the game but only after a horrendous error from one of our defenders in clearing a long ball, he took his finish very calmly though, curling it round Shay Given and into the top corner. He looked good in the air in that game and made some good runs. In the return leg he just disappeared for most of the game, while his midfield weren't giving him much to work with he appeared to spend a lot of the game feeling sorry for himself and was fairly easy to deal with. He got on the scoresheet with a penalty but that covered up a poor performance.

Mutu needs more time to settle in the Premiership, but there's no doubting his ability. I think he could be a good partner for someone like Drogba.

Personally I think Chelsea have the most options up front of any team in the league. They can afford to lose their best two strikers and still have a top class strike force. After Chelsea I'd say it's Arsenal, I think this will be a big season for Reyes, Henry will always get goals and Bergkamp is a great player to have on the bench.
