had an ok time tonight... i was really tired so i think that affected how i could get into it... jan johnston was a very good live PA, altho it seemed a bit short.

i was really into the first hour of marco v's set then it went downhill for me, cuz i was feeling really really exhausted. i still closed it out. snuck into the avalon booth with mike, got pictures taken with marco before he left. i guess that made up for an otherwise subpar night for me.

avalon's crowd/vibe is the WORST out of the venues in nyc. spending more than half the time pushing old old asian men (i hope i don't grow up to be like them...) away from your female friends is not my idea of a great time. especially if they don't get the hint the first, second, third, etc etc time. i dunno, the crowd just seemed totally clueless... first sign was all those people dancing on the stage, where jan johnston was to perform... i also think only a small handful of people actually knew who jan johnston was. also, if jan didn't stay around and went to crobar after her performance at avalon, it says a LOT about the club....

tonight made me appreciate arc sooo much more.

Yup, she always performs that in her sets, along with Flesh.

If I correctly heard what she said in introducing it, the new track at the end was something that Serge Devant (the opening + closing DJ) produced (or worked on), and is on Armin's label.

Yea I think she called it "Transparent" or something like that.

Well I have to say that even though the vibe absolutely sucked last night I had a blast...maybe it was because of the stiff drink that the nice bartender gave me. I loved seeing Jan perform!! And Marco's set got me jumping throughout the whole night. I LOVED HEARING Ton TB - Dream Machine (Marco V remix)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Randy Katana - In-Silence (Txitxarro mix)!!!

My only qualms about last night was that the dearth of females were making the males a little bit more annoying and desperate. I had to continuously tell people that Mike was my BF so they would leave me alone. One guy even had the nerve to grab both my arms so I couldn't push him away.

Oh well, always nice to see the TA's!!

True, but the security was light in the DJ booth. I walked right in and asked him to play Randy Katana - In Silence (Txitarro Remix).

The event last night was great. Alot of weirdos in there, but whatever. I walked right in the DJ booth and got my automanual vinyl signed. Marco came up to me and was like "Do you know this vinyl?" he showed me God Child/Echnalava vinyl. I was like, well I'm going to buy it next week. He says "I'll just give it to you." Awesome.. Even the security guy there, which was only a sound engineer was like your a cool guy, not like some of the other asses in here. :D All in all great night. At least this place was more packed then Shelter. :wtf:
