Why you chose to produce?

Just curious - why you chose to produce? For me - it was the only way to get all the crazy ideas out of my system onto CD. I don't ever hope to make money off it - it's just an expensive hobby/emotional outlet. How about you? Oh, and by the way - tell me honestly - you started to produce because you imagine yourself as - with a crowd of lusty chix (or guys, if you're a girl or whatnot) all looking at you. C'mon admit it - you're attention junkie.. C'mooooooooonnnnnnnn :D

mainly because it's a fun hobby that let's me work with what I like very much in life...music :)
it's also a good feeling when people enjoy the tracks you make so I guess it's a little because of that too, I just like to make people happy :) |

Because I have too!!!...no matter how I try to avoid it producing music is just what my soul tells me I have to do. i guess maybe because I come from a lot of musical ancestors?? I tried to avoid making music for a year or so...felt like I was dead or something and it called me back. i guess I mainly do it because I love it and it's all I ever wanted to do my whole life. I truely do expect to make money and be able to do this the rest of my life...but money isn't the driving factor, it's the love of making people move and being able to be creative.
If I had to choose between having millions of dollars or just being able to make music the rest of my life well screw the millions! |

I got into produucing basically by accident... I saw "make your own music with Sonic Foundry Acid" on some random website and got me a warezed copy of it..
I had just turned 15 at the time and there was no way I was going to fork over $200 to buy a copy of it.. so warez has given me a hobby that I will take with me for the rest of my life..
at the time I had just gotten into techno/trance and my tastes were limited to some random Paul Oakenfold mixes and DJ Jean (yikes)..
I still do it because I enjoy being amazed at what I just created... every track I do is better than the last.. but pretty soon I'm going to hit that threshold of pro-sound.. I would say within the next year at the most.. I wonder if it will still be exciting for me at that point :conf: |

I don't really remember how it all started with the producing, I just know that I produced som funny tracks with my friends, just for fun, and I started to sit more and more time for myself in the musicprogram that was Fruity Loops at the time. And then one day, one of my my older brother's friends came to our place and he hade brought a cd by Ferry Corsten, I just got glued infront of the stereo and I got really inspired by Ferry, I think that was the main factor for my future trance producing.
These days I produce trance mostly for my own sake, I need to express my feelings in some way, and music was the best way for me.. My plans for the future is to get signed by a label so I can "touch" people with my music. And what could be a greater and more powerful feeling then to see alots people dance to your own music?! |

honestly, because I know that I have good musically talented, strong musical background (over 12 years classically trained) and a good ear for music...
Not trying to sound braggy or anything, but I believe that whatever talents that you may have as a person you should use to the full extent and not let it go to waste
Basically, several years ago I started getting into trance music simultaneously I saw a demo version of fruity loops at my old school's media computers, it got me into producing...
I do hope to get signed in the future... whether that be in 1 year or in 20 years... it doesn't matter...
Making music is a passion, not work. |
