Just to add a bit more fuel to the whole Hip Hop argument...
The guy in the White Hummer who was shot on Sunday morning, had just left the Orange Room, when he (presumably) was killed by someone with whom he had an altercation at the event.
Doesn't make me feel all that safe about walking through the Orange Room on my way between Koolhaus and Guv... I mean, trance addiscts are too relaxed and happy to get into any kind of altercation (can't even think of the last time I saw a fight (other than a couple asian chicks bitch slapping each other over some guy at Tiesto) at a real trance event.
But Hip Hop fans seem to shoot/knife each other with alarming frequency. |

It's not like there's no Dutch flags during Tiesto or Ferry, or German flags during PVD...although sometimes it's a bit excessive, it's really no big deal... :) |
I was waving a big Canadian flag at Creamfields in Argentina and there werent even any Canadian DJs. Far from anyone being offended, I had aboyt 15 people trying to hold it at the same time yelling "VIVA CANADA!!"
Some of you guys need a big shake.... |

what kind of losers complain about people partying at a party? everyone there without a pickle shoved up their ass had a great time.
Spraying champaigne - good, its about time you all whitnessed a real party! |
Most people in Toronto have a pickle deeply lodged unfortunately |

The hip hop room has always been there. There is a following in that room. How would you like it if the hip hoppers took over a night at your favourite club without warning just for a special event?
Oh and to the person from Washington who didnt like Toronto the city. What exactly didnt you like about it? |

OK, come to a party next, lemme spray champagne or water all over you, and then we'll see just how happy you are.
They should be respecting their fans. Thats my opinion, if im a computer geeks because of it, then im a in geek. But if someone pour/sprays on me, dont care if its AP or Tiesto, ill get pissed and make a big scene. I'm just glad that plastered AP guy didnt try any of that with me, or else im pretty sure i woulda done sumthin that woulda got me kicked out |
i agree for sure, but it's still better than getting a record tossed in your face! :p |

in hell, is this for real. its crazy to hear that someone was killed sunday morning.
can anyone please tell me why hip hop culture is soo violent? why do those in wankers wanna act like thugs and dont they think of the penalties of shooting or stabbing someone? dont those idiots think of the future, they might make fun of us by saying that we are E heads that dance funny and go all night.
but the fact of the matter is that we have fun and the rooms are filled with energy, we dont start stupid fights coz someone grabbed somebody elses girl and tried to grind with them.
i guess none of my questions will be answered but i just say the purpose of going to a club in my opnion is to listen to music and have a good time.
personally i could do with out the orange room at the guv coz we dont need those in egomaniacs that piss the girls off and get into altercations.
and for those of you that say the orange room has always been there and we are complaining about nothing, here's a in news flash. friday night the guv is hip hop so there is a night dedicated to hip hop and its the whole in main room. so why have that on saturday as well. |

the two music cultures have a totally different philosophy. listen to the lyrics ... mostly violent and full of hate, whereas the EDM scene is about PLUR. ;) |

Every visit to the Guv seems to be getting better and better for me.
My first event was Paul Van Dyk (which was fairly good, but I had to leave about 30 mins after he came on), then US4 (this was a great event, I'd say better than when PVD was here) and now I got to experience Ultra Spin 5 ... WOW!
Although the night started out kinda crappy for me (didn't get much sleep the previous night, had lots of travelling to do and then major traffic on the DVP, didn't get in 'till well after 1am).
However, everything soon came together...recognized a friend that I've met before outside the club scene...before I knew it I was partying it up with a number of TAs...met some other people on the dance floor...I've never danced so much in my life.
From what I've read, many people dislike the orange room...and I see why...it was a real pain have to go through it...ruined the buzz, the crowd wasn't too bad, but definately not as friendly as in the Guv or KH...
Marco V and M.I.K.E. were great! The last 20 mins in the KH will probably stay with me for quite awhile as that was the highlight of my night/morning...heh
Can't wait for LoL! |

Imma not too sure about that one...i know plenty of nuts who'd love to have Sasha's broken record chucked at them.
... they'd all be drunk or high at the time of course, but hey -- who cares right ?? It's not everyday that one's touched by the son of God himself...(or one of his many surplus vinyls )
 :whip: |
