I was wondering if anyone knew how Mauro Picotto does his headphones? I would like to do mine like that also. What kind of paint he uses? How do they seem to glow under blacklight? what materials do i need?

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Some pics if you dont know what I am talking about.

he gets his headphones specially painted by a friend of his.

you can get it done in various places, but you should be careful, because you could end up wasting a perfectly good pair of cans.

Btw here are some more recent pics of his new headphones.

and newer still

well actually his biggest fan does them. He sends her headphones like once a month and she mails them back. I think the coolest ones i saw were the red one's that had glow in the dark flames :eyes:
chesco
the interview I read he said it was a friend from Italy who does them.:conf:

btw can you post a pic of the red ones, i've never seen them?

UV Paint, u can buy it from some Art's 'n' Crafts stores.

but u'd need an artist to get it looking good, and yeah, im guessnig u dont really have spare MDR-V700 headphones lying around to just practice on ;)

Well... Actually I was thinking of being more creative & using my Pioneer HDJ 1000's

I painted my Senn HD-280s with spray paint, in baby blue (similar to picotto's). I just covered the padding with newspaper. Overall result looked real nice, although some of the padding got blue lol. I'm no artist, it was actually my first attempt with spray paint. But I liked the results a lot :)

They are my spares and reside in the front pocket of my record bag.

Might have to have a fiddle...

No :( did that around a year and a half ago. Will try to take a pic of it... although they need a repaint lol. But I'm all for it, customizing your headphones is, like customizing any visual aspect of your DJing presence, the first step to be different from the others and for people to remember you ;)
