bzycakes! :D

...well there ARE bargains in certain areas of nyc...and even jersey city which is just across the hudson river ...if u are wiling to consider dat. i would only recommend living by exchange place or newport train stations tho...ne more and it gets madd ghetto lols...but ideally i would rather stay within the five boros...queens, certain parts of bklyn (heights, carroll gardens, bay ridge <-- altho this is prety far)

i agree.
i just recently(two weeks ago) moved to Jersey city. i live in a 2 bedroom brownstone apt w/my girfriend.. use one BR as library. jersey city is acctually a great place.... there are scatchy areas but what city doesnt? the pathtrain is only about 10 min. ride into world trade. and it takes me about 5-10min walk to the path station.
if any of you are intrested in liveing in jersey city, PM and i'll give you a full detail of what type of apt i live in, how much im paying and whatever else you want to know about the area. oh and permit parking pass is only $5 a year... LOL so cheap. trust me, you need it... they started ticketing like crazy since i first got here.

I pay 900 for a 1br in Queens not including utilities
car insurance 475$ per month liabilty only
gas!!! expensive as a bitch

basically if you go live in the projects or the ghetto it will be cheap but if you want a nice neightborhood you will have to pay $$$

why would u want to move to NY.
there are so many better, cheaper, nicer places to move.
not that i dislike ny, i love it...
but i would never move there.

stay in dc.

NYC isnt too bad, expensive yes, but if u're here long enough, u figure out how things work and u get good deals for things like rent, and insurance

I pay 1200 for a two bedroom, i own a car, 600 insurance (never use it, only on weekends) so its doable, just need to know the right people
