How would u feel if Trance became mainstream in the US (pg. 3)

| Nah! Keep it underground. If you make it mainstream it will lose most of it's flavor and then a lot of meat heads will get into the music. Ugh!! The last thing I want is to go hear PVD and see roid freaks all over the place. I will probably start to cry.:sadgreen: |

| hey, well i'm gonna be trying to get a radio spot next year at nyu radio so hopefully some of you guys will have a station to listen to once in a while. after a semester or two i can even move from am to FM!!! :tongue2 |

| Well... if trance does become more mainstream there are always good and bad things. As lotta people have said, lotta crappy trance will become even more prevalent. However, that also means there will be a lot more good trance that makes it to the "semi-underground" state with developing producers a better chance to be heard somewhere. With the popularity, comes the accessibility of buying records, cds, and all forms of trance anywhere (which is a biotch currently) and the price will definitely come down. Although becoming mainstream, we do lose some of that elitism that is sort of associated with listening to EDM. |

i'd be ecstatic if it became mainstream!!
the crap WOULD multiply by 100... but the good stuff would also multiply, because more people would be into it and would want to create it...
and it'd be sooo accessible. i'd love to be able to walk into any store in america with music and see a huge EDM section.

| i would watch mtv more often, maybe they would have live video feeds of Ibiza and such. My friend who is in europe right now tells me deep dish -flashdance is in the top 10 for TRL in mtv europe!! And they have live feeds of ibiza every other night.. |

| I think theres good popularity and bad popularity. It would be nice if trance gained more positive backing from the public, this way trance events get more exposure, and funding, all in all making the scene more accessable to people. I agree with a few comments, one being that it would appear, at least in my experience, that alot of people view trance as (that raver music). Also, its been undeniably associated with drug culture, but I think trance is much much more than that, and I think some good press and popularity would do the scene well. Trance for me is complex, sophisticated EDM, A Neo-Classical if you will, PVD our Brahms, Armin our Mozart, and Tiesto our Beethoven. |
