This is the final Design For the DS
Larger button and larger screen
I can't wait!

The DS looks significantly different. Instead of being the boxy gray device shown off at E3, the new-and-improved DS is a combination of glossy black plastic and silver metal in a slimmer, sleeker case. The face buttons and shoulder buttons have been made larger and have been slightly reconfigured. PDA owners will be relieved to know that the device has a new storage slot, while audiophiles will be pleased to hear that the DS speakers now broadcast in 16-channel stereo sound.
In a Japanese press release, Nintendo also reiterated the DS's technical capabilities, emphasizing that the device's dual processors will allow for 3D graphics and that a "newly developed graphics engine" will provide a frame rate of "60 frames per second...outperforming the N64."
While Nintendo did not use the unveiling to announce the DS's final price, it did take care to remind the media of the device's vast backing by developers. "Software companies worldwide have more than 120 Nintendo DS games in development," read the company's statement. "Nintendo alone is developing more than 20 titles, and in excess of 100 companies have signed on to create games for the new system."
The Nintendo DS is scheduled to hit store shelves this fall in the US and Japan, with a European release planned for early 2005. |

Nintendo Ds also reminds me back in the 80s when you got those pocket games like Donkey Kong and Mario and what not.. those really 1 bit games or something..

At least they thought of something from back in the days and made it modern. |

| Nintendo doesn't suck at all. they prove time and time again that they can make awesome games, no matter what system its for. but for some reason, no other company seems to make good games for nintendo hardware. |

You know if nintendo decides to drop everything.. that will be the last for classic games. Which will truly suck.. and probably the last of the best innovations of the "actual gaming market".
Sony and MS just follow the bandwagon... All they know is if the hardware is powerful then people will buy it cuz its cool and has great graphics. It's not "ALL ABOUT THE GRAPHICS" thats why nintendo would rather have more gameplay then graphics. I bet whoever played games made in flash or java that were fun those graphcis don't compare to the games out in the box, but you play it because its "FUN".
And all i can say Nintendo DS is the one that will revolutionize the whole gaming market. Who would have thunk, to make it touch screen using a stylus pen, and you can play old games/new games. Now tell me 120 companies developing for it is not enough for the filling? thats more companies then the support on the PSP.
It's because those companies see the potential of the system and not becuase its all powerful. Nintendo DS is a flexible system. PSP is not a flexible system. The only difference on the PSP from that of the failed counterparts from the past years are, the movies,mp3s ,the wi fi support, and ps2 like graphics. Thats practically it.. there is nothing new. If you said oh they have the UMD aka MD.. well game cube had that? Now does PSP have a 1 gig semiconductor that can be programmed more easily? NO! because they haven't thought of that.
Thats the reason why Nintendo is still around because they have the best innovators among any one in the gaming market. DS is an example of what nintendo's new console could become.
Nintendo is the only one that has built 7 systems and out of those 7 systems 2 were bad. I don't get it.. even if nintendo is still around people don't realize their potential. They are more experienced then Sony or MS. Even if they are not number one it doesn't make them suck. Heck I'd shake my hand to anyone who has dealt and survived among 6 companies since the 80s. Plus! a big handshake for surviving for the past 7 years on the big Sony, Sega, and MS systems.
See even if nintendo is 2nd or 3rd they will make games because they want other people to expand their ideas more.
Once they go that is it.. you won't have anymore Adventure games like Mario, or metroid, or zelda.. ya know.. there is no other system that will ever have the likes of those games. It's because it's all in the mind and the fantasy and dreams you create. Something to make other people dream on their own. You expand your horizon and gain more to yourself. You create your world where the rules are set to your liking. Thats where a good game resides on, to just think out of the ordinary and stop following other people. Ya know.. would you rather have every year a game that comes out to be a FPS game??? No I don't think anyone would.. you would get bored of it and want something new! Thats where nintendo tries to make others think beyond FPS, and graphics. It balances everything out.. heck even if you don't like the system.. don't say nintendo sucks.. because I know you bought an snes or a nes back in the day or a gameboy. |

This should be interesting...
I cannot argue that Nintendo has had some of the most fun games around. They were on its older systems though. The N64, in my opinion, was an utter failure. A cartridge system? Are you insane? In no way shape or form did the slight increase in loading space compensate for the lack of space for a game on cartridge. And one game after another sucked more than the one before it on that system. The reason I originally bought the system was for Robotech: Crystal Dreams, which was promised to be released at about the same time the system was. Never showed up. Amongst other supposed great titles. And the cartridges were way more expensive than the other systems' CDs. And let's not start on their "Kiddy Friendly" rock headed philosophy for the system. Or the fact that barely allowed any third party developers to make games for the system. They have made massive improvements with thier GameCube, but i still think they are suffering from the blunder that was the N64.
Sony and MS had a better marketing plan, the cooperation of many a good developers (SquareSoft, anyone?) and flexibility of their platforms.
One or two great games, does not a great gaming platform make. |
