Is that the time back when everybody thought it was cool to wear GAP clothing? Fill me in, because I have no clue what you mean.
"Fall into the GAP" :stongue: |

| I dont consider any of the stages of clothing in my life "valuable." Yeah, I wore Gap. Then they thought color was satan, and I stopped wearing it. I dont know what they sell now. |

| Gap years are when you finish school & spend a year travelling or working before going to university, or between any of the levels of education here in the UK :) |

| oh and It depends really what you want, if a specific event is on, go for it, take the time out, I personally have been dealing with my problems on about 5 gap years now :p and I'm starting a short college course in september to get myself back into things there, but a lot depends on your goals, and obviously finances |

I can honestly say that I've never owned or wore any product from the GAP company.
To get back on topic, I've been taken the American equivalent of a "gap year". I graduated a year ago and haven't really done much since. I think I'm going to find a steady job for awhile and save up some money, then decide if I want to spend the money on a "higher education". |

I haven't done one personally - we call it "deferring" over here.
I plan to take a semester off for the 2nd half of 2006 to go to the World Cup in Germany and to travel througout Europe. Should be good!
I'm in 2nd year at uni, and looking back now, i would have preferred to travel and work for a year and make some money before starting uni, after 13 years of schooling.
Doing exchanges to foreign universities would probably be mad fun as well - there are plenty of foreign students at my university (University of Sydney) including a lot of Americans, Singaporeans and Europeans. |

I really wish my parents had allowed me to.
I wanted to spend one year studying Spanish and English while working (so I could pay for it), as I don't have an official diploma or anything. My mother said I was a slacker and I was to get into university. I spent 2 years trying and got in an institution that I soon couldn't afford... I'm 3 years late with my studies now, couldn't have my gap year (so I still need to get that bloody diploma) and I'm not even taking the course I meant to.
If I had entered uni right after high school, I don't think I would learn as much as I do from it now. I'm a lot more mature now.
I hope this is of any use :p |

My brother is about to goto Hamilton, Ontario for his 3rd year (he flies off in 4 weeks) and the way his course is, the 3rd year you either go abroad or work in industry for a year. He's turned down ones in california, ottawa, newcastle (au) and others to goto this one tho, but it's no real 'mess around' as it counts as importantly to his course & his life afterwards. |

| Dont do a gap year is a stupid middle class excuse to fulfill a monotonous life and have something to talk about later on in life (when I was in Kenya...) |
