That's because men scare them away. :p I spam here and there in COR (Mr. Mystery ever so politely pointed out...hehe), but I am in the music forums a lot more than one might think. I lurk way more than I post. I listen to people's tracks in the amateur section. I read the reviews of new CDs, mixes, and tracks. I wish I had the time and the ability to produce music because I know I have an incredible ear for music. I give feedback to my friend's and sometimes even to my boyfriend when he produces. I have people that send me tracks and mixes requesting feedback because they know I have a sensitive ear. I read as much as I can in order to learn. I sit down with people in their studios so that I can learn by example. Maybe if people didn't attack people so much on these forums other people like myself would feel more comfortable posting and asking questions.

Maybe one day my passion could turn into something more, but until then I will live vicariously through my best friend and my boyfriend. ;)

True that girls do not post very often on forums. I believe that is because most women, not all, just enjoy listening to the music and especially vocal tracks. Most women aren't into theorizing and discussing the tracks that they don't know the names of. Usually it says a lot about a girl if she does post. Probably means she knows 90% more about the music than most women.

Ladies- Don't take this wrong. I am not saying women couldn't understand the music, but that, most, choose not to. It shows in the few number of women that post.

In Denver there are a lot of women that really like trance and we have a few excellent female dj's that can hold their own with any of the guys. At parties here, the mix is usually pretty good. I must admit, I love vocal trance, but I especially love playing it for a crowd full of hot girls. Usually that gets the crowd going because the women dance and guys (regardless of whether or not they like the music) will dance with them. Again, ladies have all the power.

I think that its just a type of music that doesnt appeal to many women. When you think about it, women tend to be much more sensitive than men, especially to what people think of them. Im by no means making a sweeping generalization here, but girls tend to care more if people think they're dorks. :p They have higher insecurities. Even if they think trance is cool they probably will think twice about voicing that opinion.

Just an idea. Obviously this doesnt apply to all.

I am actually more prone to like tracks without vocals. I do love a good vocal track, but even then I am interested to hear the dub as well.

I don't think I am too sensitive to what people think about me when it comes to music. I know that I know a lot more than a lot of people on this forum that have only been listening to EDM for a short time. I post when I feel compelled to respond to something. I post even when I know I could get flamed. :p

Speaking of songs...let me plug someone who I happen to think is an amazing male vocalist from Norway...Jan Hallvard. Jan...I still have goosebumps after hearing the vocals that you added to our track (my song...Terry's production). You have such an amazing voice. I'm honored that you agreed to do the vocals. I look forward to the song's release. ;)

Heia Norge!

I anticipated a response like that, because I have seen you post a lot and you are an example of the 10% of women that care to immerse themselves into the music on an intellectual level, not just listening. Hell to be honest, a lot of times, being a dj or knowing lots of dj's makes the biggest difference in how informed one is, not so much gender. I hate to generalize, but guys seem to get more into the anaylzing of the music.

Miss Lizzie
I know more about EDM than any of my male friends (not the online ones).. they depend on me to keep them informed... Its just a way of life and time consuming

There are more men on the internet, so naturally there are more men on forums such as these.
