I'm not sure what to think about this one, folks. (pg. 8)

I know I'm being a cynic about all this, but what makes you think this wasn't just some idiot in the woods? 6ft+ is not an abnormal height for a human, and the reactions such as ducking down when you shone the lights sounds like a human reaction too. Is there anything that suggests this isn't the case? :conf:

And your reason for being suspended wasn't because you had chosen to voice different opinions, it was the manner in which you voice(d) them.

That does make it sound a hell of alot better anyway, even if incorrect.

And twisted420, I have faith in myself, thats enough. I've considered one day dressing up in a bigfoot costume just to make the lives of little minders interesting. In fact it could be the highlight of people's lives.

Glad to see that this thread has fallen victim to hijackers.

Anyway, the return trip was interesting, to say the least. Things out there aren't much different during the day than they are at night. It was still darker than hell because the treeline on either side of the road is about as thick as mud. We ended up pulling off to the side of the road about a hundred yards from the deer, which was still there, but had obviously been run over two or three times by passing cars. The tire marks from my peel-out last night were still there, obviously. It creeped me out just seeing them.

I was going to stay in the car at first, but that lasted about fifteen seconds once the guys who went with me started walking away. We spent about two minutes checking out the deer to see if we could figure out what had happened to it. The hole in its midsection was a bit more than halfway through. It stunk to high heaven, but it looked like it had only been there for a day or so. It had to have been killed at some point yesterday. It was obvious that it wasn't a car, though. Some kind of predator had definitely done the job.

At first, we argued over who was going to climb down over the rail and down into the ditch where we saw the "thing" last night. There was a wide gap in the trees that went back about fifty feet from the road, but beyond that was another solid wall of trees. We finally just forced Joe, the guy whose idea it was in the first place, to go check things out.

He was out in that clearing for all of about sixty seconds. He looked around at the ground for a moment, stopped, kneeled down to look closer at something, and then stood up and came bolting back toward us. Of course, we freaked because we could tell that he had found something. He climbed back up the embankment, over the rail, and it was only then that I realized that he had a big stupid grin on his face.

"It was a bear. A really big bear."

At first, I thought he was ting me, but he swore up and down that they were bear tracks. Eventually, I decided that I had to see them for myself. We all followed him back to the spot. Sure enough, they're definitely bear tracks.

We snapped a picture, which I forgot to get from Joe because he left in his Bronco and I wasn't thinking about it at the time. I was just relieved that it was at least something normal.

Still, though. There is one BIG ING BEAR still out there in the woods... and I'm pretty damn sure that it tore up that deer. That doesn't sound like normal bear behavior to me.

Case closed, I guess.

I hope. :nervous:

According to psychology, the reaction would actually be either, stand your ground and fight, or run your ass off. It's called the fight or flee response or something like that.

well, anything physical you will fight, natural to defend your life........however when a threat cant be explained nor touched, the "curl up and scream" concept comes into place.

I mean what has always scared me the most, is not just something that cant be explained, but something, that, atleast in our physical world, cant be controlled.

like poltergeists, etc.etc...

most kids had scary dreams of big ugly monsters, etc, but i on the other hand usually only had nightmares of ghosts etc, even to this day....

every human has their "worst fear", something that threatens them....and ive come to the conclusion that me being a pretty big guy contributes to why my fear is always something that I physically cant control....

ofcourse, this doesnt mean im not threatened by a 10 foot tall black bear/big foot/monster, i assure you if the situation came, i too would run and scream endlessly like a woman.

I'm not really out to prove anything. The one picture we took was of the tracks, and I hope to get that posted as soon as I can get ahold of a copy.

The road is Hwy. 101.

in some situations, we WANT weird and scary to be true, just because it adds mystery. I'm sure in some ways, punisher, deep down in his mind, wished that this creature was true.
