As we all know, Jewish cemeteries have been defaced all over Europe in recent years. But of course, drawing swastika's on tombstones is just an expression of Anti-Zionism, not Anti-semitism.
And now this:

| Also, shame on the 50 for not sending the 3 frogs to the hospital. Jews need to learn how to fight back if they don't want a repeat of the Holocaust, when we were just marched to our deaths. |

The new anti-semitism is differnet in that is some how hidden in a political correctness. Obviously, the Frenchmen had no intent to mentally respect the memorial they visited, yet their political correctness most likely forced them to visit the 'tourist attraction'.:crazy:

True... But european anti-Arab and anti-Muslim sentiment is a bit of a modern development. The historical undertones of anti-Semitism, at Auschwitz no less, are simply terrifying. I don't mean to downplay other hate...anything of the sort is terrible. But when Europeans start forgetting, or excusing their treachery of World War II (with the exception of the Scandinavians, Bulgarians and Brits), the world has a problem. |

I suppose nations like Bulgaria and Finland are in a grey middle ground. I think both countries were part of the axis, but both countries also did very well to protect their Jewish populations. |

good think i'm studying history in school , bulgaria was a part of the Axis, yet Bulgaria and Denemark were both the most helpfull countries to the jews during the ww2 , though i don't know much about bulgaria but in denemark when the goverment knew about the fact the nazis want to send the jews to work camps , they started spreding the word in the street and the denish people started giving shlteres to the jews there were even stories about peoeple who came to jews on teh street and gave them teh keys of their houses.During hte war the danish people saved 7,000 jews by transporting them to Sweden, and only about 400 jews were caught by the nazis and sent to the work camps , even though they were caught the danish goverment and other organizations from danemark sent them food and made sure they are alive and after the war 300 of them stayed alive, in "Yad va shem"
the holocaust museum the whole danish people considered as "Hasidey umot ha Olam" (those who saved jews during the war without getti'n any profit of it and those who were in danger because of the fact they saved jews) though less then 100 danish people registered as those people because there weren't enough vitnices to tell the stories of their saviors.

| This thread is a fine example of hypocracy. You Israeli fanatics whine about anti-semitism (i.e. racism) and then go on to generalize from three French citizens to the whole lot of them - and from France to the entire Europe. Do you really expect anyone to take you seriously? |

Exactly what I was going to say. You generalize about a country of 50 million people based on a case of 3 individuals. Besides, there are countless French tourists who went through Auswitz and if I recall correctly, this is the first time something like this happened. With that sort of logic, we can arrive to similar conclusions about the US. Wasn't there a mosque burned there right after 9-11? And there were some insulting grafitti written on a few others. Oh, well, I guess that every US citizen is an anti-muslim crusader then.
As for WW2 treatment of the Jews, I don't think there was a single country that liked them at the time. Britain itself had a pretty strong nazi movement which perished only thanks to Churchil's good leadership, and the US repeatedly refused to accept Jewish refugees, allowing only 250 000 to get in. The scandinavian countries were even worse, Sweden allowed about 10 000 Jews to get in, while in Norway about half were deported to German concentration camps. |

your having the same problem people in europe had 60 years ago.
there are tones of anti semitism for example in france but most of it ,is too small to get to the papers or to the NEWS on television you think anti semitism is only when someone drawing on jewish
tombstones , or when someone burning synagogue. NO! anti semitisim is also when your being cursed becasue your jew or when someone don't want to talk to you because your jew. don't bull me about how can any one take us seriously , that phrase made me so mad don't you think jews learned their lesson when we had 6 milion dead people !?
