Trance music is my favourite - especially dirty phat basses/beats and spine tingling melodies.
At the minute Super8 - Cre8 gets me, as does the bassline in Instamatik by Stephen J. Kroos.
I also love Classical music, especially film music - i think that Trance is the modern classical music - highly evolved obviously. |

Even if it does get in the charts, thats always just gonna be the corny popular stuff - thats how it gets pop in the first place, theres always gona b propa banging trance, well thats wat ive noticed since 15...

WEll,
personally, I think that commercialism should be used to "draw" people into good trance. Like have awesome artists release 1 or 2 songs in the charts every year...
that way, we cna ensure a saafe long term future, and yet draw people into trance...
if what i'm saying actually works... :rolleyes: ... then really, everyone will go into the undergrouns..
unfortunately..:nervous: ... that means greater demand for Trance, which means commercial labels pumping out more money for DJs to join up... which makes commercialism more tempting...
However, if we maintain a strong culture of non-excessive commercialism...
maybe trance will be da best in the future :p |

My Mp3 Player started carrying trance tracks on his Flash memory about one year ago...
Today the flash memory is full of trance Mp3's.
Damn... I have to buy a new hard disk! It's full!!! :D

| I just had to post in this thread, and I agree to it being about doing research and finding your own music. I discover great tracks from years back each day, and of course some new ones. This, together with the fact that I feel my taste in music is pretty unique, makes me truely dedicated to electronic music. I'm not saying EDM, because a lot of the progressive stuff I listen to isn't pure dance-music - it's more like ELM; electronic listening music :D |

I started to like trance music when i firs heard Chicane - Saltwater , and Antiloop . I kinda miss that old days , when i played a record tape at a party whit antiloop , and everyone started to jump in the house ..
Now I got deeper in trance , descovered the forums , searching for trance music everyday , and listening to it when im home .
I dont need drugs to love trance , because trance is my drug . |

maybe trance is a modern solution for the almost legendary 'music that makes you trip' what everyone looking for in the 60's.
but for me /trance, prog, edm- call it whatever you want/ music is a way of life, the tension, the sensation, the synasthesia. Can make you cry, can deliver the ulitmate euphoria and complete so called 'egodeath' - you everyone probably have had few of those moments when you are so 'high' from the music you wouldnt even care if you'd die the very next second because everything is just so... right.
about converting people .. i dont really do that but when people ask me about this kind of music i know something about i can babble for hours ;p and just recently we were working on a weekend in the office over a project with a collegue and we needed some background music. i should also mention he is a diehard rock and metal music fan - but to my surprise one of those open minded people. so he wanted me to put on some 'trance'. i dont remember what tunes i put on but they were a little more laidback and relaxed - not the peak hours crowdmurderers ;)
after listening for a while he told me that this kind of music makes him really sad and alone kinda.. like walking alone in a big empty field - but sad and alone in a good way somehow - he couldnt describe it. then i put on some real hardcore peakhour tracks - FC's remix of adagio and the likes - you get the idea. and then i told him to imagine being in lets say a club with hundreds or thousands of persons who are just celebrating life, celebrating being together, FEELING the music. lets just say he was very impressed and said that he would come to a good clubnight with this music for sure. i didnt convert him - he still is a fan of rock and metal and the likes - now he just can appreciate good edm also - not the same way as i though :D but still.
damn.. and i just wanted to say a few words... :whip: |
