why do people always insist on putting dj before the name it just makes it sound really cheesy
tomfoord
I'd always say use your real name. It definitely gives you greater credibility than something like 'DJ Megatrancemixer'.

My DJ name: Tom Foord
russt
Myself and my mate learnt to DJ together and so we are a duo.

His surname begins with G and mine begins with T, so I came up with our duo name: G&T

If we refer to eachother individually it's by our firstname with the initial after: hence I'm Russ T and he's Andy G.

I agree with a lot of the comments about "DJ" in front of the name; it can sound cheesy. Notice DJ Tiesto is now Tiesto...it's because everyone knows he's a DJ now! When your name is on a flyer for a club night people already assume you're a DJ.

Yea, I agree that having the "DJ" in front of your name has become very cliched. If I start needing to put a name on things I do I'll probably use Paul C. (C. being the first letter of my middle name). I thought about Paul N. but I like the C. better and P. Nelson sounds stupid to me.
zizack
I use my real name, Zack Roth. I think people who pick out random words that they think are cool as their DJ name is extremely corny.

"Cool" is overrated. Be yourself.

mezzir
i just use mezzir, no DJ or anything
still after like 3 years of using it for a nickname/screenname thingy i'm debating how to pronounce it
people have said ME-zir, mehz-er, meh-ZEER, i usually go with mehz-er
idk

My name is Kevin Larose

Kevin L. ??
K. Larose

In english Larose means the rose

I was thinking about using : Kevlar but I don't like it

( Kevlar in french is the thing that make the anti bullet coat for police or army )

I just don't know lol

Dj Raul Lee thats me.. when I finally start to play out :)

I used to think that the 'DJ' in front sounds cheesey but hey aren't we really DJs ? Its not like you call yourself DJ and you dont DJ.

So I've just come to deal with it and it doesn't really bother me anymore. Don't mind if theres the word DJ in front or not, coz ultimately, I just DJ.

Doctors are doctors and djs are djs. :)

If I were to produce then i'll have a load of monikers tho haha

my 2 cents :)

Remove DJ from the front. It does sound cheesy, generic and trite. Well, that's just my opinion.
