Nice percs, use of effects and some nice synths after about 1:30
I'd concentrate on working more with the bass; the original had a great bass and I really miss that in this mix. |

dlin renco. thanks for the heads up on msn.
i like what you've done, you've mostly kept together what works, and changed things up. i don't know how to put it into words, but i like what you've done. i still prefer the original though.
as said before, you need to rework the bass slightly. it worked really well in the original, and you seem to have lost some. at certain points the kick is a bit overpowering, like the 1:28-1:35ish area, but then again i have a crappy sound system so on a normal one i bet it sounds fine.
maybe rather than copying the bassline from the original, maybe try something like in particular points in your remix, complimenting the track with a clap, or make the clap sporadic at say the point i mentioned above (1:28-1:35), like what you've got going at the end of the sample. by sporadic, i just mean change it up, while leaving the bass the same. clap-- clap clap clap -- clap, (like at 0:56)
i dunno, im a retard as they say! im just spewing crap so whatever. but yeah, definitely finish this one up!
i can send u the stormy intro mix thingie i did (all i really did was record, edit, and mix in samples overtop of the track to give it a different atmosphere.. real lame and cheesey effort i know..) and see what u think. just msn me. =) |

| good choice of source for remixing! Love Rico Soarez work. First the percussion part sounds too primitive but in the middle of the song everything turned normal :p. About this whobbling bassline, can you make the notes longer?? Maybe more RELEASE?? Very good :) Sebraa |

hey hey, i just realized ur 14, and ur b-day is april 22 :D , mine is april 23, w00t, but im a little older hehe
u chose a kewl song to remix, i love the original of this hehe
i like ur beats, theyre very chilling, things i can suggest, raise the kick volume, just a little mastering issues, and also i think u can add more fx or strings or more synths/ extra melodies maybe? because besides the original blue berry melody, theres not really much in here, but like i said, the beats are kewl, very chilly :D
keep it up m8, for ur age ur amazing |

Probspot is the MAN! A true model for all past Mp3.com artists.. It's no suprise that he was the only one to really go somewhere...
on to your track...
the mastering isn't very good.. if you look at it in a wave editor, the average volume level is way below 0db..
but I like the FX and and such on the percussion that you used.. very Probspot-ish ;)
the track definitly needs more elements.. or more FX.. or SOMETHING.. because it's very empty.. But I would start with some more complex hihats..
overall not too bad... you've got some neat sounds in there.. just be sure to work on your mastering.. you would be amazed what some EQing and Limiting mixed with a spectral analyzer can do to your final mix ;) |

agreed. i remember doing some work on a fineart remix once to try and make it sound a bit better using soundforge and audition to work on the levels. it does do wonders for a track.
not bad though renco! does have some nice sounds, pretty much captured most of the probspot sound while still making a remix!
could use a few more elements or something else to give it that extra bit, does sound a bit empty in spots. |
