Well, I agree with the ruling because the City of San Fransicso was going against the laws of Califorina.

I also agree with the ruling simply because if the court had ruled the other way, any two bit official could have had a green light to do whatever he or she wanted regardless of the law.

I'm still sympathetic to the couples, but they were wrong to not go to court first.

Here is some more fuel to the fire. I signed a petition enabling a constitutional measure that would define marriage between a man and a woman. (The measure is for my state constitution, not the national.) Missouri just passed a constitutional amendment. Our amendment will be on the ballot in November and it will most likely will pass considering how conservative North Dakota and its 635,000 residents are.

Hmmm I would sign such a measure too ... if I could also find and sign onto a measure that would eliminate state recognition of all marriages. Alas I doubt such common sense would arise any time this century.

And with that, the governer of New Jersey just had a coming party on TV to announce that he was gay, had had a gay affair behind his wife's back, and is therefore resigning effective November 15th.

Talk about political bombshell, I have some friends who live in New Jersey and they are speechless (for once)

Personally I agree with the California court ruling, imo marriage should be between a man and a woman. The Canadian law may have changed but I'll never recognize it.
