If liverpool get 8 Million and Morientes it would be the best deal they could have done.
Owen is becase he isnt very compatable with other strikers |

The deal is 8M and Antonio Nunez.
No idea who Antonio Nunez is. |

LFC have been ed on
Real Madrid are too clever They say they want owen, £10million + morientes/eto' They wait till we leave owen out of the champions league.... when they know he isnt cup-tied, they play morientes! sell eto'o to barcelona! by that time, owen knows he'll be going to madrid, and so do liverpool. madrid know liverpool wont take morientes now, and give them some next reserve player... and to top it all off, they give us them £8million + nunes, which is no way near £10million + morientes AND i bet they get Alonso, cos they save £24million on viera, im sure they will spend £12million to get alonso |

I can tell you right now there are alot of confused Madrid fans out there. I don't get this move, the players don't get this move and I know Camacho doesn't get it because he gave away Portillo saying 3 strikers is enough.
The worst thing I'd say we did all summer was give up on Emerson. He could have filled that midfield gap better than Vieira, at a cheaper price and we could have been getting a player for the next 6-10 seasons. |

| However good or bad Owen is, Real Madrid didn't need him. I think Real have been cynical and clever about this, I don't think they were ever intending on offering 10M + Morientes, they wouldn't pay that much for Owen when they clearly have Ronaldo and Raul and attack is hardly their problem. They spotted an opportunity for a bargain and they've got one. This is almost certainly the work of Perez and not Camacho. |

does the year of 2001 ring a bell?
Form fluctuates but class is permanent.
Do you know what Owen has got in common with Luis Figo, Ronaldo and Zidane?
They've either won the FIFA world player of the year award or the Ballon D'or. |

| Owen may have injury concerns and suffer from inconsistency but his goals to games ratio speaks for itself, he has averaged just over a goal every other game in the Premiership and has gone for 8M, that is a bargain espescially when you consider he's still only 24. |

I'm very very very sad to see Owen go =(
However, I'm excited about the Reds' prospects for this season. It's definitely Gerrard's team now, and I look forward to seeing how they perform with a different squad and different manager. |
