Proper Local Section for Las Vegas?

Hola,
I'm currently a Texas TA (austin, tx) but will more than likely (like 95% certain) be moving to Las Vegas (proably by Sept 12th). I was wondering if this was the right section to start looking up shows in the Vegas area? Any Vegas TA's around? If this isn't the right section, please feel free to move it. |

yeah, this is the right section. I think there are 2 TAs in Vegas. The most famous TA in Vegas is our Boooooooooomers.

| This is the right section for this site, but there is not much talk about Vegas in here (for obvious reasons). A good site for club information is http://vegas.napkinnights.com/ and for the trance scene Spundae is about the only group that brings people to town. Every once in a while RA or ICE may bring people in on their own, but it is Spundae for the most part. |

thanks for the responses gang. i hear ra is more hip hop stuf and im not much into that.
i like all kinds of music actually. some artists that i "know" of that i like are pretty popular anyways: tiesto, corsten, pvd, zabiela, oakie, sasha, sandra collins.. heh i even like some baby ann. |

Yes, RA has drifted away from the EDM scene, but they seem to be the club that hosts PVD when he comes to town and used to have some Spundae/Godskitchen events there (e.g. Armin last fall). But yea, now it is hip-hop for the most part, as ICE seems to be the new venue.
On a side note, what ever happened to House of Blues? I liked the setup of that venue. |

Armin played at Ra? I wasn't aware of that.
He played at HOB last fall on labor day weekend.
I don't think there will be any more one-offs at HOB...at least
with godstchen hosting saturdays at ICE. But ya never know I guess.
They had attendance problems there on Sundays unless it was Tiesto.
EDM had only really been appearning on Wednesdays at Ra...not sure if that is continuing. I am pretty sure that I heard a while back that PVD just likes to play there.
Beyond that, you might want to check out the local scene off the strip as suggested above. I think Sean Patrick used to throw a party at a place called the Mayan (don't even know if he is still around).
Napkinnights is more of a "vegas scene" website, but there are some people on there who post about events (probalby not much more than you'd find out through word of mouth.) It was started originally as a site for the sacremento scene.
Of course you'v egot one-offs live Pimp n Ho with Donalde Glaude and Christopher Lawrence, coming up Labor Day Weeekend.
In my opinion, things changed years ago when Utopia died (actually before the fire/remodel).
Back in the day, coming to vegas meant spending at least one night
rocking out to some good trance till the wee hours in the morning,
and then maybe a decent after hours.
These days, finding good EDM in vegas....well you can go over to the spundae board and talk to vegasguy about that one :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

He was at HOB Labor Day, but came back in Oct. for the 76 tour. It was even ASOT 119 :D

Yea, Pleasure Dome. It is gone now as Wednesday is Flaunt ("80's rock and old school music"). Pleasure Dome is only back for special events (i.e. PVD). |
