| Imagine what would happen if someone made a club like that only with white males instead of asian girls. |

Hasn't everyone noticed that Asian people in general stick together and are "cliquey"? I hate making generalizations but take the Guv for example... All the Asians you see are either Vietnamese or Chinese and stay together in their annoying cracked-out packs...
I for one am not a huge fan of them, but that's besides the point.
If there is indeed some exclusive young Asian girl volleyball club, I'd steer clear of it... I hate to say it, but Asians are ALWAYS up to something (Who keeps getting busted in Markham and Scarborough for grow ops and clandestine labs?)
Again, perhaps I'm making a Stereotype of Asians as a race (I of course, am one myself) but in our "PC" world, a club of this sort based on sex and ethnicity is NOT considered racist or discriminatory solely because they are of a visible minority group <-- Something in my opinion is complete BS.
I know for a fact if a club for "white" people existed, the PC police raid the place in a second as if it were a "Mah-Jong" game being played in the back of a Chinese restaurant. :toothless |

| I think it's true not only for Asians...but other people/cultures as well. Toronto encourages "multiculturalism" and doesn't want people to blend...so as a result we have communities that usually stick together thar than blend with everyone else :) |

yes
and yes Canada is a very multicultural society but at the same time very segregated.. i think TOTA is probably the largest source for my non-Asian friends.. it's almost impossible for me to associate with non-Asian people given my proximity to my community. this TA community is quite an exception in my opinion ..

I agree with dEsidEL as well as Starsearcher. Most ethnic groups tend to hang out together as well as the fact that TO is multicultural to the degree that such "segregation" takes place.
For me personally, I have always lived in a WASP neighbourhood (High Park & Bloor) so most of my friends are of that background. You could say I'm "whitewashed" or "domesticated" :D
I don't have a group of friends that are exclusively Chinese... If you're familiar with the terms "CBC - Canadian Born Chinese", "Banana - Yellow on the outside, white on the inside", I'd be considered the latter. Also, most Chinese people wouldn't "accept me" because I don't think like them or share the same values...
In other words, I'm too white! :D That and my Chinese is SOOO BAD, I sound like a "gwei-lo" if I attempt to speak :toothless
But to get back on topic, I believe this new phenomenon of "reverse-discrimination" is taking place where minority groups are able to get away with things that an exclusively "white" group would be condemned for... :whip: |
