I've got two lovely little furry monsters.
My question is, how do you prevent the little buggers from chewing on your cables??? I'm mostly concerned about them chewing on any power cables (which to my knowledge they haven't yet).
Ideas? |

Double tap to the head normally cures it.

well, first go get a spray bottle, fill it with water...and when you see it do something bad...spray it quickly so it knows why its getting sprayed, our cat attacks EVERYTHING, her mind is always set on destroy mode lol |

you beat me to the answer. do what ^ says, and the cats will behave. but you must be consistent to reinforce their behaviour.

| i dunno if its the same w/ cats but.. whenever my dog starts barking nonstop or he gets mischievous, we spray him w/ the spray bottle. its like a mix of vinegar & water. prolly 1:2 or something like that. it works well; at least w/ my baby. :) |

not always true...i had a cat that liked water and thought getting sprayed was the greatest thing in the world....
...plus...if in fact it is chewing on electric cables and you are going to spray the cat, you may wish to think twice, especially if it's managed to expose the wires, you risk not only frying your cat'; (if it doesn't do it by itself), but also frying your components. They don't put the warning on the toaster not to be put in the bathtub for no reason... :D :D :D
..but i hear the spray bottle is a pretty good trick in general :) |

Well it's fine and dandy when I see them doing it around me (which is never - that's the problem!) Most of the time I'll get home, take a look at some cables and see that they're chewed...
They already chewed at my PS2 controller cable, to the point that I had to toss it. They also chewed on my XBox controller cable, lol. I think cats like the taste of some types of plastic used on the cables.

| Fortunately none of my three cats have ever seen fit to chew cables. The youngest, however, does like to taunt the other two and attempt to chew their back legs. So that spray bottle trick might well come in handy, thanks for the tip! |
