small town mentality.. ? when some people here act like TO is the center of the universe..? i just think that it's too damnned expensive to travel.. if we had something like EasyJet and RyanAir (i know, WestJet doesn't count) we might have a far different perspective on things..

Very true. Ryanair was my life saver when I was in Europe. Why don't we have something like that here? What are the financial/governmental restrictions that might be stopping something like this to start here?

how many times do you read about local yokals crying about noise downtown, or about too many cars downtown, or about too many people downtown, or about just about anything else a city is supposed to have?

If these people moved to the countryside where they belonged the rest of us could get on with making this a world class city.

As for airline restrictions.... jets go would be a bargain at $79 each way to vancouver except that on a one way ticket, taxes and government fees add an extra 100-150 bucks.

nice one Jon Jon. have fun, be safe! :)

watch out for that evil buggered sasha stare that he does towards the very end of his set - it can freak you out if you're not careful. :nervous:

(meanwhile rj sits at his desk scoffing that only 5 or 6 people will be heading to luke fair tonight)

steve.

Ya for real like i bet we have a scene at least 10 times as good as that found in Iqauluit

i don't think they are of any comparison .. London truly felt like a world class city, TO still has a long way to go!

London is one of the centres of the world.

Toronto is a regional centre or at best the capital of a isolated nation. If it were not for high amounts of immigration to toronto inflating the sense of world connections the reality would be more clear. But hey i am all for more hot ladies.
London is a true world city and was at once the centre of the world. Also due to the presence of nearby contiental europe there is also more regional travellers and workers than that seen in toronto. The lack of a rail link from the airport to the city centre of toronto is evidence of our unworldliness

sure except you cant compare oregon and toronto. But you can compare london and toronto because they are 2 major world metropolisis and both the main cities of their perspective countries.

Bull. You can't compare the club/party scene between London and TO. London's is better, bigger, and stronger than TO, NY, and MTL all combined. London has 1/2 a dozen clubs you've probably never even heard of that can kick the out of most North American offerings.

discojoe
london is twice the size and really in a league of its own.
but so is paris.. and id say torontos scene is better than paris. from what i heard.
