I'm sure this will be a short review thread, as I only saw one other TA at this event (hi Mario!!)
**********************************
Came back to DC (my hometown) for the weekend. Had planned to go to another club to see Lange, one of the few DJ's left on my 'got to see him' list, but when I found out Max was playing at Five, had to switch the plans up a bit, even if it was at Five, a club I CAN'T STAND!!!! I mean, g-d bless them for bringing in good talent, but holy crap you're LUCKY if 10 people in the place know who's headlining. What a total meat market and drunk fest!
Stupid me tho- got to the club after 1am, waited for the brawl at the front door to disperse b4 heading in, and once inside, headed towards the booth, and saw 'some dude' with a shaved head spinning. I then spent the next hour, with friend in tow, trying to find out why Max wasn't on. Everyone kept saying he must be on, and each time I laughed, cuz I KNEW that wasn't him. Finally spotted the Deep Dish boys in VIP, and went to ask them. They also said he was spinning. But no, that's some bald dude.... no, it was Max. DOH!!! Ok, he wasn't bald, but it was very short. I musta caught him at some wierd angle, cuz that's how he looked to me that 1st time).
The look on Max's face when he saw me in the crowd was priceless... that "what are u doing here???" look... lol! I finally infiltrated the DJ booth at Five, something I've never been able to figure out the few times i've been there. What a maze it is to get to! Not well thought out at all. Too hot and small of a booth to hang out in for long. I dunno how he managed.
Took off at 4am, and sign languaged my goodbyes. My friend couldn't take being on the dance floor, since every guy there tries to make a move on ya.
Heard some really good tunes- Timo's "Cubik", "Owner of a Lonely Heart" (killer tune!), Thomas Bangalter "Call Me" to name a few. |

Max is the bomb! It sucks he had to spin at Five, but hey it could have been a lot worse.
It's great that you still had a decent time! |

He is nothing like Sander. They might play a couple of the same tunes, but generally very different Dj's. |

Most of sander's productions are prog trance type stuff, but most of the liveets of his that I hear are more housey, where as Max spins a lot of prog trance and writes a lot of melodicy prog trance.....
man, categorizing |
