Now, because if we were looking for a repeat of past glory days, then we would be back to square one, i like the evolution of music, just hope it dosnt reach a bottleneck.
Plus i had no girlfriend back then, and i dont want a repeat of that either, present is the best. |

| i wouldn't mind it. i mean, really its not about having the older tunes back...its about the fact that none of today's producers are making tunes as good as those. i wouldn't mind if they made new tunes that rocked the dance floor...that's fine with me. i just don't like a lot of the stuff that's coming out today...and the stuff that is good is the stuff that doesn't get played |

Everyone knows that trance is in a slump, let's not try to cover up the fact that many clubs have closed down, labels have gone bankrupt, and there just simply arent any classics that come out nowadays, at least not in the caliber of a Cafe del Mar or a Carte Blanche. In my opinion trance has gotten stale and boring, with the same cookie cutter formula, it would only be in trance' best interest to go back to the golden era which made it what it is today.
Even Matt Darey said that the genre is in a sad state. :o |

| ^ haha, another trance whacko, who can't accept anything negative about his beloved music....dude get ur finger out of ur ass, be more open minded and open to critique, the truth hurts i know, but im sure you can cope. I do listen to other things such as deephouse, 99' style trance, progbreaks, and drum n base. |

This sound WILL be back. Whether in splinter or in broader spectrum varieties I cannot say. Depends on the individual champions of the sound and what they chose to do it.
It will return in a revised form with some spicing up and some contemporary (if you can even say that) twists. Will just take some time to happen. The naysayers often like to talk it down but when it does happen, the power is undeniable. Similarly, house is disco's revenge.
That's the way history goes . . . moves in cycles... moves forwards but looks back... observe the timestream and the folded chrome polygons in the matrix* are easier to discern.
Progression and regression simultaneously.

Very well put Floorfiller,
I completely agree with you, when you say that "producers arent making tunes as good as those days". And For those critics who argue that the music is about progression, I must say that I agree 100%
but when the music progresses into a big can of cheese where will the music be. It will be a thing of the past and we will be listening to those times when the music was powerful. Just think about it people. |
