You can hate some of the people or some of the language, I speak english and french and I'm happy to use either language, not to mention quebec has some fine women :eyespop:

From what I've heard learning English-Japanese or vice versa is supposed to be one of the toughest because the languages are completely different in structure, pronunciation, intonation, etc... But one's first language and other languages used would probably influence that a lot.

Yeah probably some of you, those who've to choose french at school with no other choice, you don't see the interest of learning this foreign language.
But maybe you haven't noticed it, french is a world-wide spoken language, especially in Africa (yes of course, due to the colonization... ) and also by some of the leading aristocratic families in the previous centuries (like in the UK course, in Russia...)
So it could be considered as a "respectable" language.
And there's not only the language in itself, there's also a culture with it.
Well in all countries, pupils are not really enthusiastic with learning a foreign language because it's hard to learn (probably most of the time, it appears harder that your mother thong)
Personnally, i had german as 1st foreign language for about 11 years... and unfortunately today i'm absolutely unable to hold a conversation...
So that's it, and for sure, i found german difficult.
But please, don't blame french... try instead russian, japanese... or arabic ? :D

the hardest language to learn is the navajo indian language, it was so complex that it was used as code in WWII.

It has been 4-5 years since I've used my French. Give me two weeks in a French speaking country and I'd right it up.
