| I dont oppose an americanwide nafta but im just illustrating how Martin supports a lot of bush policy even though he tried to distance himself in the election. |

If you dont want to her them perhaps stand up for yourself and say that you dont want to hear what they have to say maybe?? If you say that to me believe me I wont kill you for saying that.]:P
Also how do people know you are intrested in politics??Does it say "I love Bush" on your forhead"?
| quote: | | But the attitude (and sadly, your attitude) seems to be that I *must* agree with any anti-Bush sentiment or else I'm an idiot, and that's why no lead-in is necessary for these topics. |
and sadly your attitude seems to be if someone is not agreeing with you that they are stupid and arent as smart as you!!
It really dosent effect me nor does it matter to me if you like what Iam saying or not,and I really DONT CARE.
But I will express my opinion whenever I feel like I have to. |

I dont get it...you want us to talk politics but not bash bush, fine, if your saying critisize the American people, cant do that, because I think its not their fault, majority of the American population does not support Bush' policies. Second, critisize the American government, cannot do that either, because the democrats and some republicans even do not support Bush' policies. Any organisation chooses a leader to represent them, if the organisation is at fault for something the leader has to take blame for it because he/she leads them to that path. Why should this not be the case for Bush? When enron screwed up everyone blamed the CEO and the board of directors why should this not be the case with America?
Regarding Bush being called a moron, people generally form opinions about their leaders or anyone based on the individuals actions. You said yourself, nobody in the right mind would call Bill Clinton a moron, because he was a good leader for the majority of the country, not because all of us are democrats or liberals, (some might call him a pervert but thats another thread ) Same could be said for Reagan/Senior Bush they "seemed" as smart individuals, But everyone called Nixon a crook, not to repeat myself but....

How is this behaviour justified? Please tell me. |
This behaviour is justified by the mere fact that it has been a part of the political arena since the dawn of politics. Almost anything is fair in the political arena and Bush bashing is not an exception. It's just more visible than most forms of political attack.
Examples:
"Kerry is an unfit leader"
"Dalton is a liar"
"Hitler was a monster"
"Blair is the president's pet"
The list goes on. |

Yes, it's easy to be a critic when you have less of a vested interest in the situation...but that doesn't mean your criticisms are any less valid.
|
Actually yes it does and I used that logic when it came to my wedding day.
Your say in my wedding was directly proportional to the contributions being made.
Critisize all you want, but unless you have the guts to actually do something to make a definite, positive change in someone's life then you're just wasting time and energy. |

Nobody has ever said any of these things to me in casual conversation - only in political debates.
As I said, I'm not referring to political discussions or statements made by politicians - I'm referring to typical social situations in which people normally shy away from strong political statements.
Do people say these things to you in everyday settings?
Jeff, you make a very good point. Fortunately I can take some solace in the fact that these disturbing emotional outbursts come from people who will have no say in the upcoming election (even though, as I said before, I'm not rooting for Bush). |

That and...
It's pretty easy to preach about how people should be, what people should do and how people should act when you're not one of them. |
exactly....
so then why does america think it can tell countries what weapons they can produce, who should be their leader, what flag they should bare and so on??? |
