You have to wake up as you finish a cycle of REM sleep (deep sleep). Cycles are every 90 minutes, so sleep 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, etc hours and you should wake up pretty easily. Just use increments of 90 minutes. |
is that the same for every person? |

| Well, i always set my clock in my bedroom 20mins ahead! Then you always think its later then it is...set your alarm normal time you want to get up. For as long as i've had my clock set a head i always jump up in a panic thinking im late....and nothing wakes you up quicker then that :) good luck! |

I also use the alarm clock on the other side of the room technique. It works for me.......I also set my clock ahead about 15 min.
Also -- when I lived in a basement apartment I found it hard to get up too.......I just made sure to leave the curtain open so the room would get bright as the sun came up |

The only true way to make sure that one wakes it to ensure the calamity occurs if they don't.
i.e.:
- house burns down
- car explodes
- horrible pain and suffering
- etc
So again - my suggestion is to rig something that will cause the above -- and I promise, you won't sleep in. |

Yeah but then one day you'll forget to set your alarm clock, and you won't get up in time to stop it. :wtf:
I used to have 3 alarm clocks situated in different corners of the room, going off at different intervals. Come morning, I would get out of bed, hit the snooze button, and get back into bed, as many times as necessary. Some of us are really hopeless... |

| I find once you get a semblance of awakeness, drag myself into the shower helps bring me fully awake. It's a struggle but once you're wide awake, you feel so alive! :) |

i usually just get someone to shake me out of bed .. if u live with a significant other the lure of morning sex can also be appealing
sometimes i've even considered telling someone to change the time on my clock ahead without telling me.. this is proven to work
if u live near a farm there's also the option of a rooster..

| I set my stereo on top volume...usually scares the crap out of me (and everybody in the whole house)and wakes me up real fast (heart attacks may occur) I also schedule it to play for the amount of time i need to get ready, that way it shuts off automatically and I know its time go. |
