I like some of his uber-uplifting early stuff, like Pulp Victim - The World, and of course Carte Blanche.
But yeah, in general I think his post-2001 work is more robust and distinctive. |
Ahhh thanks for clarifying that. Sorry, I wasn't more specific.
Ahhhhhh the sign of an artist's progression. :) |

I must have missed that, or forgot, my apologies.
Of course not, they don't play a banging club sound like PVD does. And from reviewing a the Sasha tracklist archive, it doesn't seem like they played much of his productions back then. Granted I wasn't in the EDM scene back then, therefore any aliases I wouldn't recognize, especially in pre-99. |
yeh of course they would
sasha would play avenue probably more than PvD himself :haha: and words, for an angel, love stimulation, all the bt/PvD stuff (remember bt used to be sashas pet project) etc etc |

What??? Where are you getting this information dude?? If you have no excact site or artical then you are full of it!
Ferry Corsten is one of the nicest down to earth Dj's out there. He is always smileing, interacting with his fans, willing to sign anything that is handed to him. I have had nothing but possitive experinces when I have seen him or gone up to him. In fact at Cochella I had a poster that I got most of the DJ's to sign. At the end of his set he came down to sign it. There where other fans but he let me go first :D Since I go to every show out here in So. cal he knows who I am.
Anyways, not only is Ferry a great person he is also a great DJ and producer! (imo) Every set I have seen from Ferry has been Great! No cheese involved at all. When he thows in "punk" or "rock your body" the crowd goes nuts. There is always a good vibe at Ferry shows. Please please do not listen to Mr. Negetive. Go see Ferry you will not be disapointed!!! |

im sorry but just because something isnt in an 'article' doesnt mean it isnt true :haha: if you ask any dj about his opinion on ferry corsten other than say armin or l vee etc & they have anything at all positive to say i will write you a cheque for 1000 pounds. |

^^^^^^^^
you have no real proof therefore it is not true. Speaking your own opion dosn't make that statment correct. |

well i honestly think that u are talking bull:happy2: if someone like paul oakenfold buys his 'out of the blue' white label for a couple of hundreds of pounds then i think he would have some positive things to say about ferry. that he makes great music for example.
you don't know 'every DJ' outthere, do you? and if i ask some of my DJ mates, who play techno/house/progressive/... they all worship him as an awesome producer, although they don't play trance. it's all about a personal opinion and an attitude towards other people's tastes.
so, when shall we talk about that cheque :toothless
ps: who is adam freeland? :stongue: |

I've come to the conclusion that on average, the longer you have been into EDM, the more bitter you become towards the scene.
that said, not all of us are like that, I've been in the scene for 5.5 years, not super long, but my brother has been in it for 9 years, and whislt he's not bitter, he now listens to funky/deep house.
pre 99 was the era of massive illegal raves and goa/psy trance going up to the birth of the more 99esque sound, and those who dabbled in the era of PLUR, free love, whistles and dummies seem to hate how 'commercial' (I prefer 'more accessable') the scene has become.
Wayhey for the few positive people left in the scene!! :D |

hmmm... no specification of dj's status, ergo I could ask myself, or my mates....
need a pen for that cheque? |

Amen. I'm finding it hard -- heck, I'm a technosnob on my Mr. Hyde side ;), so uhhh -- and it's too easy to be apathetic. If I wanted to be negative, I'd talk about something realistic like the interplay between life and death and all the pain and suffering in between... and the human rights injustices perpetuated throughout Planet Earth. There's enough of that hatred.
I'm seeing a lot of negative, unfounded, flame-baiting statements being perpetuated in this thread... it surely gets some people whipped up into a frenzy because of the fallacy of it all. An opinion in a meaningful discussion goes hand-in-hand with being respectful of others, yet firmly delivered and with enough reasoning to help others understand why you might feel a certain way. Hurling insults during maniacal laughter like some combination between Experiment 626 (of Lilo & Stitch fame) and the Joker while tossing out bovine excrement, aka bull, does not help.

I look forward to seeing this word being honored. |
