You guys are obviously ignorant and haven't tried to live on your own. It's clear that you are totally dependent on your parents to support you (have you given up breastfeeding yet?)...

Do you think it's leet to have a cable/adsl connection?

No, it's just that dial-up is painfully slow.

However Australian adsl/cable is sooo expensive :whip:

Also a mature comment! No, really! Believe it or not, not everyone can get broadband.

56k user  Go me.
tu_face
my problem is that i am about 100m too far from the exchange (my gf's cousin up the road a bit can get broadband) which is possibly the most annoying thing on the planet.

although BT are working on their lines to increase the distance further for 512k connections.

Whenever i see the British Telecom BT, i immediately think of Brian Transeau.

Still on 56k :whip:

Looks like I'll be stuck on it for the next couple of years at least, with the way broadband is going where I am.....

and why do i always hear internet connections are so expensive in other countries?

I do know better, and I do have a choice. When I'm at home I can't be arsed! :toothless

i have dial up until tomorrow (tuesday.) then im getting 3mb cable. it took me 6 years to convince my dad to upgrade from dial up.

funniest thing: my dad has an old school pentium 1 in his basement workshop. He doesnt really use a computer except once a week to check obituaries from a town he grew up in. ANYWAY. he is gonna keep his dial up service for 20 bucks and just let me have the cable. in a way thats good cause i wont have to be networked to him, but if he spent 10 bucks for a cheap ass network card, he would save 15 bucks a month:haha:... my dads kinda dumb:D

why dont you go ahead and do it for him - i'm sure he'll appreciate it after the initial " you better have not ed anything up ". after all, you owe him a big thanks!
