Dj Sammy - salvagable?

| I've been staying away from everything labeled 'sammy' since 'Heaven' came out, but a friend of mind passed me a remix od Sunlight by Oliver Lieb and i must say its rather wicked. Anyone else heard this track? Comments? |

When I listen to a new song I try to listen to it in a "vaccuum", which is to say the main criteria by which I judge it is if I like it. If i'm sitting in my car listening to "Dj Sammy" and i'm enjoying myself, then why on earth would I stop for a second and go 'oh wait, all the TAs think this song is crap, i'd better stop listening to it'...
That's crazy logic. Letting others coerce you into modifying YOUR musical tastes is ludicrous. People have to be more tolerant of the diversity inherent in the human condition.
Of the last 10 threads i've read which were all variants of "music i'm embarrased to admit I like", DJ Sammy's Heaven is always listed multiple times. How many times does it have to be listed before the guy can get some "Street Cred" here?
People operate under the assumption that their love of music has to be limited. That if they don't focus all their love at Sasha that he's going to dissapear. You can love both Sasha and Sammy, its okay, your mind is capable of generating both kinds of appreciation.
In the end the only judge that matters is the one who uses your ear...

actually i don't like 'Heaven" because i think its cheese, and I'm entitled to my opinion. Just it because it concurs with others on TA does not automatically make me a slave to conformism. I don't like smelly feet either , does that make me a conformist? If you notice i did not bash dj sammy in this thread, i merely stated that i stayed away from his music.
As for your so called insight into my 'freudian slip', if you look at your keyboard you'll see that the 'D' key is pretty close to the 'E' key, and since I'm not the greatest typist, i made a mistake.
You seem to be be reading things into nothing, just so that you can vent your opinion vehemently. I suggest that you do it somewhere else buddy. I asked for comments on a track, not a commentary on how the bougeois TA ( In your estimation ) upset your delicate sensibilities |

I just cant be interested in tracks made by these guys that have been labeled "Cheese artists" in my brain.
Even if ATB's latest album is getting good reviews.. i just cant be bothered to even listen a sample of his tracks.Dont blame me though. |
