they've listened to EDM for 30 years, and stopped listening to trance Or never took the time with it

you should always listen to something before bashing it
its like listening to 10 seconds of a trance intro and saying trance sucks because its all the same
the thing is, if you can't name a song of the genre you hate, you have no reason to hate it |

there are no prog house bashing threads, and if there are they are done by non custom TA's
they are just confused

Once they realize that every Epic trance track is the same formulaic breakdown/buildup/anthem theme, there's really no use in listening to any more of it. That's not ignorant, that's common sense. I'm sure they can name quite a lot of tracks from the genre they hate.
I have an idea. Name me one Country song right now without searching on any search engine or anywhere else. Right off the top of your head. If it takes you more than 5 seconds to think of one you're a hypocrite. |

Do you think the music you listen to is not formulaic? Music, perhaps by definition, is formulaic. So, do you think that formulaic is an undesirable attribute? Music from the classical period (and similar periods) is perhaps the most formulaic of anything yet created; do you consider it worthless based on this fact alone? Unfortunately, your outlook is severely prejudiced, and more unfortunately, you are one of many who suffer like this. |

Nah, for me it's the breakdowns/buildups/anthems themselves as much as the way they are arranged. And that in itself wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't ruined a genre of music that was fine already. |

Something I really hate is people who feel bigger than you for listening to a certain genre or just go with the flow to think their 'cool'
I don't care what people think about my musical taste.
Yeah, I started out listening to so called 'cheese' then discovered real trance.. well artists like Above & Beyond, Chicane, Blank & Jones, Signum, Thrillseekers, etc.. some people might say its still cheese but so what..
Actually I don't post here very often, one of the reasons is because of the amount of flame wars that appear, and I've been feeling quite depressed lately. Music is one thing that will always be there to put a smile back on my face and just for a brief moment put all my worries behind me :) |
