I can't vote for Bush...

I was going to vote for Bush (keep the comments to a mature level).

I don't think I can after tonights convention comments regarding the uber-social-conservative platform on:
  • an absolute ban on abortion (IMO a woman's health is her choice)
  • a constitutional ban on gay marriage and civil union (it doesn't effect me, so BIG DEAL! {not})

I support the war on terror, I support the liberation of Iraq - but I can't support this neo-con social platform.

Looks like Ralph Nader will get my vote in November; Kerry doesn't deserve it (IMO he's fiscally and politically soft).

I never saw Nader as a "bush vote stealer" but if that's your descision.. the more power to you!! One less vote for bush, i'm voting kerry ;)

I can deal w/ libertarians, but it's the social-conservatives that scare me- plus, they are tremendously hyporcritical- they don't want government involvement when it comes to funding social programs/high taxes but they seem to feel that they should be able to decide what women can do w/ their bodies or who should be able to marry.

Funny thing is I contacted the Kerry camp about a year and a half ago offering to fund raise for him here in Canada - I loved the vigor and fresh face he brough to the democrats.

The last 5 months, my opinion has changed - he's chosen to make his stance on isssues "non-positions" (i.e. "let congress form positions on civil unions for gays/lesbians").

Take a stance, make a point - Kerry hasn't done that.

Nader has been Nader since his advocacy in the 70s. He doesn't waver. Although a wee bit "left" he at least stands his ground and speaks in fact rather than prose.

RJ- Know what I gotta do to vote from here? Last election I cut it REAL close. Didn't think I would be able to vote, but they let me. I think you're supposed to register or apply and get on some list?

Hhhmmmmmm out of all the EU countries why would you want Cypriot? It's a pretty desputed piece of land that belongs half to one country and half to another no?
