my five days in ibiza

(haha check out how fuxxored eva is) hahah nice shades loser haha love it

I know that the greatness of Ibiza is nothing new to those who have been in the past, but I felt because despite of all the things I’ve read, as well as seen (that great documentary by the Cyrus King) nothing truly convinced me that as a true dance music aficionado that I HAD to go.

My very short five days in Ibiza were something I will never ever ing forget. And I’ve vowed that I shall return every summer (if only for a weekend) for the rest of my life.

Just hear me out. Do you subscribe to the theory that music sounds better in the summertime? If so, it’s not that far of a stretch to believe me when I say that the music on this tiny Balearic island sounds AMAZING. Not just in the clubs with the million dollar sound systems, I’m talking everywhere. Car stereo’s, pizza parlours, even my own Discman headphones sounded BETTER when on the island. I cannot explain it, nor dare I try (some say the island holds mysterious magnetic as well as spiritual properties.) The music sounds sugar sweetened, true story.

To be totally honest, we only did the “bang for you buck” super club on Sunday. We got there in around noon and stayed till Monday morning (6am). Within this span of 12 hours I heard the greatest music, with the greatest vibe along with the greatest crowd EVER.

A quick run down will go like this. Space Nightclub, on the terrace Harry “Choo Choo” Romero 2-7, Danny Howells and Steve Lawler spinning a back-to-back 5 hour set from 7-12, only to be followed by Jeff Mills closing out the discothèque. I almost cried, it was incredible. I also left out the fact that during the Choo Choo set I ran into Sean Penn on holiday. We shared a drink and I left him. Only to find that half an hour later Eva (my gf) went and grabbed him and pulled him on the dance floor to join us for Lawler playing “Dusk Till Dawn” sneakily while Howells went crazy mad laughing. WTF!!!!

We caught Roger Sanchez playing a Pacha pre-party set at Café Mambo, and also dipped in and out of Bora Bora within the trip. And caught four café del mar sunsets. (something you will not experience anywhere else in the world)

IF YOU ARE A FAN OF DANCE MUSIC, YOU MUST GO TO THIS ISLAND BEFORE YOU DIE!!! WE SHOULD ALL MOVE THERE AND MAKE THE SEASON YEAR ROUND! IF YOU ARE PLANNING A FUTURE HOLIDAY AND HAVE NOT BEEN, GOOO! IT LIVES UP TO THE HYPE 10/10

That is my short rant, these are the only pics I have at the moment, but they’ll do for now. I miss you guys terribly, and I hope everything in Canada is going good.

Best review ever!!!! :) The whole experience sounds f'ing mind blowing.

Yes, I agree - tunes sound best in tropical environments.

Those dudes in the last photo look...

Glad to see you had fun Jon Jon. See you there next summer.

I think everybody should take Jon Jon's advice here - next summer TOTA massive go.

I had an amazing time there last year and sadly missed out this year. Its not that hard to get a job there for the summer but you have to be willing to work for nothing. But if you are smart you can also live there for nothing as well.

This upcoming summer my plan is to move there and work for at least 2-3 months.

My only concern would be the worst come down ever that would occur when fall comes round

looks like you had an amazing time though. Space has to be one of the best night clubs out there same as amensia.

nice pics of the ladies as well
