| yeah, no eh mate? The first half was decent I hear (I couldn't watch the game here unfortunately). They were up two nill and then zip zip...within two minutes it was 2-2? England really have a mental obstacle to clear when having the lead in games...just awful. The report on soccernet says David James was to blame and that doesn't surprise me. He's absolute crap and needs to be replaced ASAP. |

what the hell was that crap.. 2-0 up and 2 big big blunders from james. first goal for them he was way too far over to the left hand post.. if theres 2 players which could shoot in either corner surely u stand in the middle, which if he had done so he would have saved.
as for the second goal.. bloody hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not a case of shut ure legs, but shut ure arms.. theirs no excuse.
great goal from gerrard though, and well worked lampard goal, although did u see the look on owens face after he had lined himself up to score it.. |

For the love of God please James retire now. Please. :whip:
We've just lost 2 points of an important first qualifier simply because he is an astonishingly dodgy keeper. He'd already got out of jail twice before that equaliser; 1- when he let the ball through his hands and it wedged in his ankles and 2- when he completely randomly charged out for ball that he was never goin to reach. Gash keeper. |

I reckon get rid of james and give Paul Robinson the opportunity to play a few games.

To call it a schoolboy error would be an insult to schoolboys, that was an absolute howler. But why should we be surprised, this is Calamity James we're talking about.
Give Robinson his chance. |

| 2-2 draw, not really surprising to me. Very expected one imo :) |

oh give me a break. With Seaman, Martyn or Robinson in net, this would have been, at the very least, an England 2-1 victory. Even the Austrian players admitted England outplayed them. they came away with a draw on two horrendous goalkeeper mistakes. that free kick I would have been able to stop in my youth days for 's sake. If Erikkson has any sense, he will get rid of James. |

At least there were a lot of positives from the game, just the one negative really (die James :whip: ). We looked in control for long periods, the goals were good especially Gerards and I thought Wayne Bridge looked ok at left midfield. Bridge probably isn't the solution for a major tournament and given how many times Cole would overlap him going forward their places might need adjusting a bit, but I don't see why we shouldn't keep that line up for Poland. Maybe Defoe for Smith as I thought he looked a lot more lively when he came on, although he is a bit too similar to Owen.
We should still win the group, Poland might be tough but I'm confident we'l come through. Other than Poland the Welsh are all we need to worry about. They have got a good side and there's no doubt that they'l get over-excited about playing us as its there biggest games for decades but I think we'l pull through and get to Germany 06 ok :D |

The free kick wasnt James' fault. The wall was clearly to blame on that one. No one jumped and the ball just shaved Lampard's head on the way to goal. Not to take anything away from the Austrian player ofcourse. It was a great strike. |
