Just got in!

Got there around 11:45 and Matt Licata from the 112 Crew was playing some nice progressive setting the room up real nice!

Around 1 PVD went on! He played a really nice set. Not the best I’ve heard him but not that bad! The crowd (Which Was Thin) was very much into it and in true PVD fashion cheered him on along the night. At around 5 the lights came on and they herded out the crowd like cattle! 1 of the bouncers was extremely obnoxious pretty much yelling at people asking them to leave, im sorry for 52 dollars I want to walk out the door not sprint!

Well I think Made got the hint on this party 52 dollars is OUTRAGEOUS. That was honestly a joke for what people paid to get in. Not to mention the club was maybe 1/4 filled! Made felt it tonight because their is no doubt this party lost money!

I still had a good time, the music was great, the crowd was fun and respectable. But the whole PVD Encore was BULL!

I just got in as well. I had an awesome time,I thought his set was unbelievable. I didnt stop dancing all night. The crowd it was def a litlle diffrent form the roxy crew but everyone there seemed to be there for the music so it wasnt bad, i like it when it isnt packed only because i need my space. So all in all i say the party lost money with out a doubt but i had a great time :)

And now I just got in :p

The whole Hamptons trip was supposed to start with some time at the beach, but I ended up not leaving the city until Sunday evening.
Since the weather during the day wasn't too great, it wasn't a big loss. I still a marvelous time all around.

So after getting off the Hampton Jitney bus (many thanks to spacechica for the tip on this - it's a great service and was quite a life saver), colibri and I catch a cab at the nearby Hampton Bays Diner, where we saw 4 police cars. Apparently there was some fight broke out. The cabbie said it had something to do with someone (who also happened to be drunk) thinking the price quoted for a requested ride was too high.

On to CPI... in the line, right in front of us, we ran into glittergirl and skytrancegirl. They drove all the way from PA, and went back right afterwards! Many thanks for the ride to the bus stop!

I liked the venue. Spacious dance floor and numerous places to sit. There were 2 outdoor areas, and you could get pizza and a variety of other snacks. There were pool tables as well.

Edgar V was stuck in Miami (or so I had heard), so Matt Licata opened in his place.
When PVD came on, the area right in front of the booth was full, and the floor wasn't even half full, but was filled up by the end of the first track.
I thought I heard a handful of new (to me) tunes at the beginning of the set.
I enjoyed the set all throughout, and at the end, the crowd loudly begged for more.
Kinda funny (IMO) how the bouncers guarding the DJ booth were dancing their asses off.

Here's a pic of me, glittergirl, skytrancegirl, and colibri

i just woke up :) that ride home was a bitch.

Our night started out at the Hampton Bays Diner, where we had our first taste of the snobs in that town. The second we sat down, the 3 scumbags at the booth next to us started harassing me and sky and trying to sit with us. The waitress flat out ignored us for 15 minutes, then it took her 10 minutes to bring our drinks. We didnt stay there long, but thank God we missed the fight. When we scoped out the place where pvd was spinning, it looked really small, and not really like a club at all. We had to pay $15 to park there on top of the $50 ticket, and there was no other option of where to park. The dress code said i couldnt wear my tank top, but maybe they meant something else cuz they let me in with it. I saw DirtyDave in line and then ran into partyhopper and colibri. When we got inside, i saw that the place was huge and REALLY nice. Me and sky went into the bathroom and i asked the attendant if this was also a hotel? cuz it was called c.p.INN and i thought the bitch was going to knock me out for asking such a ridiculous question because she YELLED at me that i'm stupid for not knowing that's just the name of this "renowned" club. whatever. Then we tried to sit on a huge couch where 5 people were sitting and there was room for about 10 more and the people on the couch screamed at us to get off THEIR couch. we didnt see any v.i.p or reserved signs but they were such S. hamptons crowd didnt make a good first impression.

But the place never really got that packed and we had PLENTY of room to dance right up front which was awesome and they had huge fans blowing down on the crowd. I spent the night dancing with Dave and Dom, partyhopper and colibri, and a few other cool people that we met. 2 really nice guys invited us back to their hotels/houses to crash but we ended up driving straight home. I met a bunch of other random TA's throughout the night but it was so loud in there i couldnt catch all of your names. I had a blast thought.... you guys were so much fun.

PVD's set was not the best i've heard, but it was still awesome. He didnt play as hard of a set as the last few times i heard him, it was really mixed... a lot of melodic tracks, a few old tracks, some new stuff, and techno! i could have done without hearing Crush but at least it was the Vandit club mix, and he played Nothing But You - some breaks mix i havent heard. He also played Amiel - Lovesong which i was hoping to hear.

I'm glad we went. I talked to brian at about 6 this morning and Labour of Love was still jamming strong... but i still think that for my OWN taste, i made the better choice of parties. I cant wait to party with you guys again!

My review really has nothing to do with the quality of his set, but rather, the disappointing turn-out and the whole concept of having Paul spin in the Hamptons. I spoke to Mike Bindra immediately after the set was over, and shared my disappointment with him...he admitted that Paul even had his doubts about spinning so far from the city, and was worried that the price of $52 would even shy-away the "Hamptons" crowd...bottom line, dont expect Made Events to have PvD spin anywhere but NYC anymore, because they lost a good load of money with this event and now realize where his true fan-base resides..

Next, the majority of the crowd had no clue who was dj'ing, and the venue reminded me of "a super pub" with a decent sound system. My friend Push even went around to random people asking them if they knew who was dj'ing...and not one person had an idea. Nevertheless, I still had a great time with my with my friends, etc...but it was almost funny to see a man of van Dyk's caliber spinning in such a cheesey venue...

The set overall was pretty good..if you have heard the Powerzone set from 8/21, then you'll know the majority of the tracklist..here are my highlights:

Nu Nrg- Free Fall (Paul van Dyk Remix)
Second Sun- The Spell (Paul van Dyk Remix)
Josh Gabriel - Alive
Active Sight - Out of our Lives (Pvd Remix)
Marcos - Cosmic String (played 2 X)
Robert Gitelman - Children of the Sun
