this is why, people - that i maintain this board shouldnt be used for advertising events. talking about a big event thats coming ie gods kitchen or telling everyone that someone big's coming to aus soon is one thing but lets look at the facts:
St. Luke - posts: 55 (0.16 posts per day)
and i reckon that about 35 of these posts have only been on a G.O.D thread or another that is related (like this one)
SimpleSinner - posts: 6 (0.03 posts per day)
i dont think i need to really emphasize this
Loulabell - posts: 838 (1.57 posts per day)
however while i am sure that about 600 of these posts are in 5am or 5am related threads - she actually does post stuff in other threads and makes a valid contribution to these forums

yes thats right - i reckon around about 400 of these would be from back when i was in the 5am crew and bumping their threads and perhaps an additional 50 could be to my attempts to sell tickets, however if the chill out room's posts actually counted, you would notice that i would have at least 3,500 or 4,000 posts. personally i like to think i actually am part of the tranceaddict community, not just a promoter in it

yes.
ITM is more for this kinda , not just on the forums either.
There is so much pointless spam from people that only post to promote some cheesy event.
5AM and ANOT I liken to karoake. Sing a long trance full of mindless punters, some of which post on here, who havent the brainpower to think about what they listen to and so go along and think a breakdown every 3 mins comprises a musical "journey".
So would webmeister kindly do his job and disallow promotion from juniors etc and limit the thread whoring to something like once a month? Or, is there someone else that can step up and do it?
Nothing against webby - he's a champ (a busy one at that :p).
While he isnt here tho....

Well personally it dosen't bother me too much, in fact I would actually prefer to hear about events that are coming up and DJ's that are coming to town (otherwise I would never find out.. I am not in the know you see :( :p ), however what does piss me off sometimes is those individuals that feel the need to add a subliminal promo message into everything they say.... not to name names *cough* :whip:
I am also not opposed to the 'download my mix' posts, so long as they are in their correct place, I try and download as much of those mixes as I can, and infact I think I have all of them.
However if people don't share my opinion and would rather things change *good luck changing it* then let me be the first to jump on the election bandwagon.

yeh.. it kind of seems a pointless thread to begin mate.
i mean at the end of the day, as i was explaining to Chookie and Keith up in sydney
we should all be working WITH each other
not against each other..
we all support the same music, the same events and have the eventual goal of all wanting the music we love and the music we support to grow and hopefully thrive in an unfortunate RNB & POP music saturated environments..
so really - how's about we quit the bitching... |

agree with g'dave too; i would prefer to find out about who's touring and doing what when, coz 99% of the trance info i get is from TA.
if its someone's shameless promotion, who cares? that way those humble among us that *dont* think we know everything can find stuff out and plan fun-filled holidays.
