Terrible terrible stuff. It really makes you contemplate your mortality.

I can't believe you had the balls to post in a thread like this.

yeah, i was just going to do the rolleyes thing to that one.

and eric, just face it. some people just don't want to see death. i don't. don't need it as an "experience" in my life.

and truly big thanks to cyrus king for making this post and for stopping and helping out. difficult thing to do.

I'm still stunned and I didn't even see it.

You know how sometimes there are accidents on the highway, or you hear of something unfortunate happening, but just carry on the next day without thinking about it? I just can't. I don't really know why this is bothering me so much more than any other car accident or whatever that I have heard about...

Life is too short. :(

Thats very sad to hear....:( On the 401 from Kingston to Brockville so many accidents happen, it seems like several times a week people die, I wonder if it is like this everywhere?

I was on my way home from Kingston to Ottawa last night around 7:30, traffic was backed up all the way to brockville, stopped dead !! It was on the other side of the highway though, or else I would have gone mad !!

I too am sorry you had to see that Cyrus King- daeth is never pleasant. Big ups for having the balls to stop to check out the situation-takes true courage. You did well to write about it- for us and also for you. Hopefully, you will not be as traumatized as Newr or don't dwell on it longer than needed to learn the lesson presented. and Newr, wow! I am moved as I know experiencing death at that young an age can and has certainly seems to have left some scars.
This has certainly reaffirmed my need to enforce my policy of ensuring all that get in my car are buckled up. I don't have a problem letting the rebels find their own ride. That's just how its been from day one- and I am lucky that my friends are not idiots.

Personally, I've seen enuff e to know that death can be seen welcome to some and yet a punishment for others. I don't need death to remind me of my mortality - its not as simple as that..... however if Vividboy finds a lesson in it, well- good for him. However- on the honour on being the last person to be seen by a dying person, a bit much even for me. Hopefully this was his somewhat dry humour that I have become accustomed to in his post. but really... What EGO some of us humans have...sigh.

Actually I think that THIS is a perfect spot to post this thread...I always wear my seat belt and I make sure my passengers do as well. There is NO ing way I can bear having a friend die in my car because they didn't wear their seatbelt. And the story of people being thrown clear without a scratch because they DIDN'T wear their seatbelt is crap too...ya might as well play Russian Roulette..

The scary part is that when I was looking for more info, I found about 3 other fatal accidents that happened on the 401 near kingston this weekend.

number 1 i dont see it as a lesson more as i see it as a growth in ur development as a person..death is scary yes. but should u hide from it ur whole life? it happens its natural..i guess ive learned to accept it better then others...ive been thru a few deaths in my life and u know what they seriously changed who i am, and taught me alot.

and the point of it being an honour no it wasnt dry humour.i just hink if im the last person u saw before u died, i would take that to heart if u know what i mean.im the last memory this person is going to have on earth. why shouldnt it be an honour. im not high on myself and id rather it be someone close to the deceased but it doesnt work that way all the time. so yes i would be honoured if i was the last person someone saw before they went to the afterlife. i think it means something;.
