Its about not being afraid of anything...and just living...
|cEbLu3
having an exciting life isn't always a bed roses. I've lived and been to so many places around the world. Growing up in different cultures, with diff people I've hhad both the best and the worts of times, i wouldn't change anything, cos i loved every bit of it, but sometimes i find myself wishing that my life was a lil more predictable. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

I had an interesting conversation a few years ago with one of my coworkers from my last job. One day we were talking and he asked me how old I was. I told him I was 21.

He looked at me and was like, you know what Ken? I would give up everything I ever own to be your age again. He's in his 40s.

He then started telling about what he did with his life. At the age of 16 he left home and traveled all over the world. He never stayed in the same place for more than a few months working odd jobs here and there. He would work jobs like picking strawberries etc. Traveled all over Europe, Asia, carribeans etc.
I was just in awe about how fascinating that was. Deep down inside I always wished I could do something like that. I really hate my life the way it is now very routine. The only thing I can honesty say that I would miss would be an ex-gf of mine (we're very good friends now), but other than that I could drop everything on a dime. Sure I would miss my family too, but I would like to live out my dream.

One thing that has always had me worried was security. Worried about where you would find work and stuff like that. I guess I'm in a much better position than I was, all my student loans are paid off and I have enough income to sustain me for quite a while without working.

I admire him so much for what he did. It just seemed like a very fascinating life. To be able to see the world in his teens and he did it all alone too. I'm not sure if I could do that. Like you, I think I need companionship. If one of my buddies were willing to go cross country with me I'd do it in a sec.

You've just given me a good idea, I'll see if I can find a friend of mine to be willing to travel Europe with me for an extended trip. It's kinda hard with people all working and stuff.

It’s a stage of your emotional development you’re going through right now. This is why you have those thought just get up and go. It’s in the movies and looks “cool”. In reality, you will struggle and have nothing to eat if you do this unless, of course, your parents are rich and give you a few hundred grand just to travel the world and live it up – doesn’t happen too often. This will go away, just like first signs of puberty-pimples, but overall, I would agree with you that this would be pretty cool to do.

i like to think that was a proposition for me to come with :stongue: :p

but i understand what you are saying. i look at my life sometmes and i realize how boring it has been. i really have a desire to pick up and go, but i'm also materialistic and just want to succeed. i don't know what i want or what i can do to change my outlook on life. all i know is that i'm bored a lot and there are people out there living it up...:conf:

of course that was one of the reasons i wanted to head up to toronto. i never do spontaneous things like that. it was gonna be a little adventure, but i chickened out. i'd love to go bum around europe because everyone i know that did it loved it. maybe i should start saving up to do something like that before i go to law school

I've always had the problem of duality.......On one side i wanted to be a Bohemian, writing and traveling europe, learning languages and the arts and appreciating life to its fullest without the care of money.......on the other hand I wanted to be a successful international business man...rich as hell and respected all around.

I guess now im searching for that happy medium........

but i can safely say my life has not been boring at all lol
ive lived it up as much as i can.....maybe thats why i feel like my body is about to break in half.

Although things might seem to be ritualistic.......like in college, where u have this class, then that class, then work this time, then party from this time to this time...it all seems so planned out..

This got to me back in my sophmore year. I felt like i wasnt accomplishing anything at all....... but then i looked at the bigger picture and realized that all of this was ultimately going to help me lead up to what i want to become.......and inevitably lead up to my life being a hell of a lot more interesting than doing this whole college thing. :)

Regardless though, im happy with how things have gone. Im having way too much fun in life to stop now.

yeah i hear you on the ritualistic college lifestyle. i'm kinda hopeful since what i've seen from my friends that have graduated is basically that they lived the way i do most of school and then they got real jobs that paid them great and now they are living it up...travelling all the time...doing whatever. so i'm hoping i'll have some time for that sorta thing down the road.

this sex pillow job i got.......... with the money they are paying me i am able to go to PR in October, plus go to every show i want to go to and still have money to save up for the future.

its a really great thing when you get/have a job that pays good money, and you're able to do the things you want.

ty thing is: you have to put a lot of time to GET the money, i.e. put in the hours and such.

Word of advice: save up the mula you earn.......cuz for the people who think life is too boring and ritualistic....why not save up and go on a long vacation, go on a cruise, fight some indians in southern sri lanka... it'd be swell

it is really simple..to live it up and do all sorts of adventures u need money..to get money u need a job..a job equals routine...
