That may be the case for the majority of his recent DJ sets but he began in the late 80's/early 90's with experimentation...and you can hear that in his Back to Mine mix as well as disc 1 of GU24. He's become a predominately progressive DJ with a sprinkling of breakbeat and the occasional house/trance/techno crossovers. He's capable of mixing well as I've witnessed it, he's just inconsistent. |
dont get me wrong, i like nick, hes a nice guy too, i spoke to him briefly at a distictintive party in london a few weeks back. i just think, like you said, his mixing is inconsistent (though it CAN be good) and he plays big tunes - not a criticism but an observation
as far as experimenting is concerned, i didnt like back to mine all that much though GU24 is, well... awesome :D |

all djs have their on and off days, some more than others but these are the djs that i usually can count on to play good stuff & good skills. im sure you are familiar w/ them most of them if not all but, yeah... just my take on things. :) |
Wow, someone else knows Dave Swayze. I haven't heard him spin, but I have two of his records and one of his remixes off Yeti. Really deep, yet kind of trancy. Great stuff. Max Graham is definitely amazing. I have yet to hear him live! :wtf:
Porter's dope too, for the post after this one. His mix of Amber -Anyway is quality prog breaks. I haven't wandered upon any more of his tracks since, though. |

It's all about Danny Tenaglia, no one is like him, same goes for Diggers. |
Danny Tenaglia doesn not play the same as he did in 99-2003. He has been playing alot of house, and diva styled vocals now. He lives here in Miami now and plays at only the gay parties nowdays. |

| I am not a diva house fan. I'd rather play russian roulette with half the rounds in. |

Phil K != Phil Kieran
Phil K plays a mixture of Progressive House and Breaks while Phil Kieran plays techno. :) |

Dekay is really one of the best and uniqur dj's around
also i'm a big fan of Cattaneo's and Digweed's sound ! they are soo massive
best show on the radio i ever heard was when Digweed had Cattaneo on his show at Kiss 100
Nubreed is totally massive too
about Warren...i agree that he's a great dj and has good sets,but i wouldn't call him unique...
nothing special in his sets regarding the music |

Interesting, I'd say the same about most of Cattaneo (tending towards bog prog) and Digweed's muzak (bog prog or banging prog bordering on techno...more unrelenting than unique). |
