well i am an inexpensive guy, for headphones i use
Aiwa headphones, Aiwa HPx223, I also use these when i spin:

for speakers i use Altec Lansing ATP3's there very crisp and have lasted me over 2 years, I love these little speakers, they were made very well.
I love the 7 inch subwoofer

i will recommend these speakers for anyone on a budget or has small desk space, these have great sound!
ARNATINE
I made my own stereo system by: my xbox(to play te cd`s)+tv+pioneer plant+2 speaker aiwa+2 grundig speaker+ 1 sony subwoofer... and sound really cool... plus the xbox amplify the sound!:eyes:
Wicked Neo

Speakers!

i have my PC routed thru my mixer and then into the amp and 2 x 12" subs with mission bookshelf speakers for the mids and tweeters.

I try to use headphones as little as possible except whilst spinning.

the reason being is that headphones of course push the sound directly into your ears, prolonged exposure to loud volumes thru headphones will mess with your hearing after time, it's a fact and i know it because i am going deaf in my left ear.
when i was a kid and lived at home i always used to wear headphones so i could blast my tunes.

so my advice would be to use your speakers whenever possible, it will save your hearing spesh for those who are thinking of DJing in the future.

what, are you 21, 22 years old... how come you havent been to any events i mean, you live in LA, and you're old enough to get into whatever you want, so when some DJ comes and spins in town, how come you dont check out the events????

about headphones etc.... i would say by some DJing / Producing / Monitoring headphones, becaues they have a really long cord and great sound quality... i can stretch my cord somewhere like 25 feet, meaning i can get anywhere in the room and still be listening.

You're right. I should have gone to many events, I've had many opportunities. The thing is, my friends will want to go, and they are into poppin e. I'm not down with that seeing as it is a temptation for me heh. I have done a lot of physcadelics and vowed to never do them again, I like my brain/sanity. Still that is no excuse. I can go without doing drugs, it would be hard but I can. I have always wanted to see tiesto live, been kind of a dream of mine. Someday I will! Right now I am not even in LA, I'm in an area where Djs don't come to heh. Also, I grew up in a conservative household, and if I were to tell my parents I'm going to a rave or a club, they weren't gonna have it. Even if I was over 18... I mean I needed a place to live and all hehe. I don't particulary enjoy lying to my parents either. Anyhow I have only been able to imagine the sheer joy of attending an event. It's fun imagining

PC Speakers: Klipsch 4.1
Headphones: Shure E2c and Sony (don't remember model # right now, it has a long cord, which makes it easy to listen and walk around a bit or chill on the bed)

I prefer to listen to speakers as I find that the music sounds better (especially the bass), although I can't really complain with the Shure E2c headphones as they're quite good, especially when travelling (gotta love it when all you hear is the music and no outside noise).
