My girlfriend just got her bill for $21 today in the mail.
We drove to Toronto from the US in July to see NU-NRG at Viva, and we drove on the 407. First of all we were through the toll gate before we were even like "wait, what just happened?", and more importantly the price should be posted.
I was thinking the worst thing that would happen is we'd get a bill for like $1.19 or something in the mail. What did we get charged, the yearly fee?
Well yeah I'm sure other people have complained I just was wondering you all think. Otherwise than the rape fee technologically its very cool haha. |

heh..got screwed by 407...that sux
If ya wish to complain, there's probably thousands of ppl in front of you in line.
Their charges are ridiculous, especially if you don't have their "transponder" (or whatever it's called). They'll gladly add services charges, admin fees and other "misc" charges in addition to the normal "use of road" charge.
I avoid it like the plague! |

| i went through it, and yea , seriously my bill was like a buck, but that was back in the day and it depends on what exit you get off. |

the sign clearly states 407 TOLL ROAD on every sign. There must have been at least 4 or 5 that said this before you chose to enter the highway. To claim ignorance just means you aren't reading the road signs and thus shouldnt have a licence.
As for the toll charges? They are jacked up yes, but thats the risk you took when you chose to enter the highway. |

Dude you need to chill out. I dont know what's up your ass, but put yourself in his position. He's been driving for hours, trying to make sure he doesn't end up in Barrie and miss the event. You really think he has time to analyze what the smaller print on the 407 sign says, or just the fact that he's following his instructions correctly.
And on top of that, you think he should lose his liscense over it? Im sure you've never made any mistakes before  |

what he said... being tired is not an excuse. if you missed those sign, it only means you missed others and are a hazard on the road. |

the license comment was clearly tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken literally. However, what do you want to come of this? complain and plead ignorant? They will laugh. Sorry but there is no excuse here. The signs, several of them and even more when its expressway to expressway as opposed to sideroad to expressway, are clearly marked "toll road"
Id like to see what would happen if someone ran a red light and said "im sorry i didnt notice the red light as i was trying to follow directions to a party"
Nothing is up my ass. Im just sick of people not taking responsibilty for their actions and trying to get out of things by blaming everything else. |

Obeying the rules of traffic is a foundation in driving and you cannot be issued a license without fully understanding and demonstrating them. I doubt they would refuse issuing you a license because you could not identify that a highway was toll operated.
Im not saying by any means that he should complain and get his money back. He did miss the information posted which is ultimately his fault. But let's go a little easier on our neighbours from the south :) |

| next time our neighbours to the south will read the signs just like i have to do when i take the pennsylvania turnpike or the New York State Thruway ;) |

| I wonder if the directions to Viva said "take HWY #407" when there is a cheaper and equally fast alternative @ night, Hwy #7. Ahh well. |
