commercial does not automatically mean something sucks, so why don't you get a clue, if that's possible.
i can't belive you would say g-unit is and then say nas is good...lol |
man .. u don't want to hear all that b.s. about nas and how he is like the "true underground" of rap and hip hop and everything ..
rap is rap, and hip hop is hip hop .. any true listener would know the difference between rap and hip hop (don't ask me, because i am not a "true" listener.. hahaha) ..
but it is just like trance .. we all have the trained ear for what is good trance and bad trance (well i would not say all, but MOST of us in here) ..
but i can't count the number of years i have kept on hearing how nas is all the shiznit and everything .. i really don't notice the difference between him and let's say eminem .. but then again, i don't have the trained ear for rap and hip hop ..

i will say this ..
the people who say "nas > g-unit + 50 cent" will also say
like " john "00" fleming > tiesto " or "nu-nrg > gabriel + dresden" .. they will always say their "elitest" thoughts, continuing their harsh backing aways from the supposed "commercialism" .. even though some may be too "commercialistic", say like tiesto the past couple of years (.. i just said a double standard there, didn't i?? oh well) ..
but you can't judge someone, just because they look too commercial .. i would admit .. there was a time i liked sammy .. then my pleasure died in 30 minutes (<== that's about the same amount of time as my pen0r, but that's a different story .. :nervous: :nervous: ) |

heres wot it is...
tht song 'on fire' has an awesome beat IMO.i dont care for the lyrics.i like the deep beat and bass stabs.i wanted you guys to recommend stuff exactly like it and not stuff like d12,eminem,2pac,snoop all the charty .i know i know on fire is a hit but thts just the type of beat and melody i like in rap.
also, the big beat in j-kwon - tipsy is amazin IMO.but it has been ass raped by its chart success.
im just after big beats and tight melodies.
if that makes sense guys
sorry  |

not true.. i like nas a lot better than wee-unit and half dollar, but i like tiesto better than j00f, even though j00f is fckin awesome..... same with nu-nrg and g&d, i prefer g&d over nu-nrg... |

well having listened to both a fair bit, i'd say nas > g-unit and 50 cent
easy
so btw, can we safely define 'elitest' as thinking that your opinion is correct?
cause as far as i know, most people think that their opinions are correct, thats what makes them opinions
it just seems once someone has a narrower opinion than the masses, then that opinion is 'elitest'
not everything that excludes is elitest
being elitest would be saying you listen to 50 cent and i listen to nas, therefore i'm better than you
but saying nas is better than 50 cent is just opinion

| Mc Solaar is da sheet. His best track is Caroline, although it's his less rap (more r&b) track. |

ok well heres the thing the reason why g unit is on fire right now is because of their beats...whoever is doing the beats for them is what makes them so different and is why theyre on top..i dont think dre is producing for all of g unit only a few tracks here and there..my advice to you is find out who the producer is on on fire and find other tunes hes been producing as of late...my other advice is to get the lloyd banks album cause theres alot of amazing beats on that cd. for example im so fly by lloyd banks the producing in that is amazing also i love warrior remix feat eminem and 50 on that cd..the beat is incredible as well.. i got to admit as well for producing i really like bad boy they got alot of original beats. anoher good mention for an amazing pick me up beat would be p.diddy and the family - lets get it... these are the beats ive been jammin too lately..and yes people i know i know p diddy sux and so does g unit cause theyre "commercial" hip hop but the man asked for good beats not for amazing lyrics and meaningful message based songs..also i love the new lil jon terror squad song.. i love that beat but if ur gonna dl it or get that tune i suggest u get the biggie smalls remix..i think its called the new york remix or the bronx remix or something..anyways hope that helps a bit
ps if u want to talk abt good underground rap, mos def talib kwalei and common, also a good mention is immortal technique (that is if ur intrested in political lyrics) |

Yep, it's a sad thing. I'm not one for most of the lyrics in commercial hiphop.
Gangsta rap had to have started somewhere though; I mean, I think I'm a lucky guy. I never lived in a bad neighbourhood or anything. Normal life. But not everyone's lead that kind of life.
It's not surprising its popular. It's a cultural thing almost. It's kind of rebellious music. Thugs, money, hoes, you know.
I love the beats though. Catchy, addictive, and very real. I wonder if the producers are making alot of money? |
