Hello, I just have a quick question for all you lucky enough to live on the other side of the atlantic. My friend is 17 and will be heading over to London this winter, and he claims that the age minimum to get into clubs over there is 16. Is this true?

I could be nasty and tell you yes, it's true, and let him come over telling bouncers he's 17 (and therefore legally allowed in) when really he shouldn't be getting in until he's 18.

thanks. At this point im just not going to tell him because he needs to learn not to believe everything he hears.

Wait, sorry but I'm confused is it 16 or not?

Clubs have bars. You have to be 18 to get in. I don't know of any exceptions. Maybe others on the forum do?

Anywhere that sells alcohol, except a restaurant or pub that serves food, you need to be 18 to get into.

More often than not most places now operate if you dont look 21 then they will ask you ID to check if you are 18 years of age

apart from proper clubs, who are usually out to stop people taking dealer quantities of drugs inside. |

bottom line is u have to be 18 to enter a club.
u have to be over 14 to stand at a bar in a UK pub, but 18 to get served.
16 to smoke and have sex.
alot of places are now opperating a "if u look under 21, you'll have to prove you're over 18".
obv is depends on what bouncer is on the door, and if he got laid that night or not. |

You do not have to be 18 to go to a 'gig', ie. to see a band, and they sell alcohol there.

If you look older than your age and compose yourself well enough you shouldn't have problems getting in/served in a lot of places.
