The only problem I have with Australian Idol is the outcome of the winner. Once they win they are force to produce an album in 1 week by BMG :whip:
I appreciate the elite contestants, the ones who try to rearrange a song in by keeping it in a small time frame of 1&1/2 to 2&1/2 minutes, yet still get the best out of it through a breathtaking performances. The best arrangement ever which made it the best peformance was last year when Guy Sebastian pulled off "Climb Every Mountain." I just adore how an arrangement of a song will come out, its like a remix except its live and the pressure is on the contestant to hit the right note.
The things like picking the positions of euphoric key changes shown in 'When the war is over' by Cosima, 'What About Me' by Shannon Noll and of course 'Climb Every Mountain' really give those magical moments. |

anyone watch it, if you werent watching NRL final?
Marcia was a bitch to Chanel again. Asking Chanel to "turn up the notch" and then Marcia says KD Lang is a crooner not a belter. Marcia probably doesn't understand Subletly or hates the music industry to be changed.
Man Chanel's performance would put you into a state of trance literally. She sang KD Lang's Constant craving. It was an arrangement that I would least expect, the strings were euphoric, and Chanel was just sublime. Chanel's artistry was just showing. Some producer from our tastes has to sign her!
Anyways brilliant stuff from Casey and Anthony, they turned Idol on its head. |

marcia's consistantly nice comments get the idols no where, the whole purpose of having judges is to offer constructive criticsm or praise (ie TOUCHDOWN) where appropriate not just being nice all of the time, i move for a vote of no confidence towards marcia's innability to judge idols.....
ELECT me, I would make a grand judge.... I have prepared a song....
twinkle, twinkle little st.......

Marcia - Chanel, KD Lang is hard to sing. You know, KD Lang is one of the most powerful female singers on this earth at the moment, you know? I really like the arrangement, I appreciate what you did. But I wish you’d sort of up the ante, because all of your sisters are.
Chanel – I’m not really a belter.
Marcia - Well sometimes you could just find a belt moment in yourself, whether you’re a belter or not, you just have to find the moment, just to show everybody that you are capable of it, I suppose, ok? But I’m not saying that she’s a belter either, Kd is a crooner. Ok? But thank you.
Dicko - Well I’m not just disagreeing with you for the sake of it. I was absolutely transfixed by most of that song. So much so that I was disappointed when the band came in with the drums, because for the beginning part of that song I just thought that the way you dealt with that, you just drew me in like I know you can do, and I’m convinced you’re a white witch. That was just absolutely magical and one of the best performances I’ve seen.
Marcia (interrupting) He’s been in love with you since the day he saw you.
Dicko - I know, but I’m in love with you as a performer.
Marcia (interrupting) So he is, he is, this is just incredible because, I’ll say it now. You cast a spell over this man. OK?
Dicko - You do. You’re a witch. Burn her! Burn her!
Marcia - No, burn him, burn him.
Chanel - Next time, be careful of the cookies, Haha
Dicko - Now listen, I’ve just gotta say, that was you back to your best, absolutely fantastic.
Marcia Hines - Yeah, I mean, I’m just so glad to have you back, Chanel, really, because I love that, I really loved that. I’m under the same spell as Dicko with you, I am.
Marcia (interrupting) He’s been under the same spell since he saw you too, you see what I’m saying?
But I’ve been disappointed as well. I have been disappointed
Marcia (interrupting) But you were disappointed, I wasn’t, which is strange
Mark Holden - Yeah, it is. But I completely disagree with you. I didn’t want to see you belt it at all. I didn’t want the belter. I wanted interpretation, and beauty and simplicity – and I wanted your interpretation of that lyric and that melody, and that’s exactly what you gave me, thank you.
Marcia - So you’ve given them once again what they want, thank you. |

| I've seen Chanel sing a few times - didn't see her last night - but she seems to sing in the same style every time I've seen her ie. sultry. She's pretty one-dimensional (my opinion only) |
