here is where your wrong mate , not "All" of the artists we listen to are financially well , there are alot of new talenets who got their first vinyl\cd out and guys like you downloading it before the label release is out , and that s up all the sellings and might even up the track release... (take for example the Kyomoto Vinyl wich was about to get released on TRR untill some jerk released it to the net , and guess what? its not gettin out now..) |

Even if every single person on all the forums worldwide downloads/downloaded things, theres a difference between doing it and actually coming out & assisting people with it. By actively discouraging illegal sharing, ta can be safe from the authorities and it means that we still have a forum to come to and discuss.
As for the 'but they're well enough off anyway' think about it this way
a) how would you feel if we knocked on your door and walked in then ed your girlfriend, after all you're 'well enough' off to have her, so everyone who doesnt have her or hasn't 'paid for' her can still have a go right ?
b) I knock on your door, you answer, I walk in and take your dinner out the oven and eat it myself
It's the same analogy whichever way you look at it, something that's "yours" should be available to everyone by your reckoning |

since when did most producers perform live, very few do. your confusing Djign and producing, alogn with everyhting else in this thread. you obviously have no background information to what you are talking about. |

| Nell, i posted this thread in response to my denied request for finding a live set by PVD. So therefore, I was not in error confusing DJing and producing. All I wanted was for someone to transfer me some live sets, which for the most part are posted on the website for free transfer anyway. So if TA can distribute those live sets, I don't see why others can't be distributed. |

- there are 50 zillion threads about filesharing where you'll find the opinions of everyone.
- no trance dj/producers are swimming in money, apart from a little bunch of worldwide famous guys (tiesto, pvd, oakie..), probably most producers out there make music on part-time and have some other kind of job.
- the singles on TA page are there with the authorization of the producers. livesets aren't, but most copyright associations don't care about sets as they aren't sold on their own, though they are copyrighted (the tracks on their own, not the set as a whole).
- it's forbidden to give links and talk openly on here about filesharing (mainly singles, there's a bit of tolerance to sets) because not only this is a very large board that wouldn't take too long to be taken down by RIAA, but also because loads of producers and label owners post or browse here. it's just not a very good idea to be talking openly about how to steal their music in front of them. |

I find it hilarious when people accuse others of 'not supporting the artist' when they ask about downloading a liveset. Right, and is it supporting them any more if you go see a 3rd party DJ play their work?
I'm pro-downloading either way and don't feel guilty about it, since I've built up a ~150 strong vinyl collection over the past 7 months and have no intentions of stopping it. I'm not going to bother arguing though, it's been covered too many times before. |

| People keep mentioning that the tracks up for download are there with the producer's permission. This is incorrect. They are up there with the copyright holder's permission, typically the record label. |

| Question..Why all this talk about how artists r gettin ripped off and they r not gettin any money and bla bla wasnt around 2 ys ago...you should have seen this site in the AG days...everybody and thier mother where downloading..people would talk about a track and post an AG link...nobody complained or went o wait arent we hurting the artist...you would open AG and find a track sent by someone..there was a TA group in AG for godsake...Record sales werent suffering back then and djs were still racking in the dough...i dont see any artist becoming richer because AG stop...in fact there are more tracks today and there were back then...i dont also remember any artist comin on TA cryin about thier track..hell they used to post AG links too..after the RIAA closed down AG..people were cryin and oh they will never win and we will still share n ...guess what the RIAA won..yup they did...didnt effect me though..with so much ty tracks i am glad i still download..i spend about 200 bucks every month seein dj gigs but i aint buyin no cd without listening to it..with the amount of cds that r put out. for example: ferry corsten infinite euphoria, if i bought it sight unseen i would be misrable that i spent 30 bucks and some piece of cd like that. |

ummm... he's asking for livesets... as of 6 monthes ago, people were fine with sharing livesets on here, infact the main page on TA provides live sets. Don't even tell me they got "permission" because i'd love to read the letter from Chicane.
and to everyone jumping on the "hurt the up & coming artist"... you guys are more than right, it is impossible to make anything off 500-1000 vinyls sales and some misc. online downloads. However, i dont see how livesets hurt the up & coming artist.
edit: now re-reading his post, i realize he is dipping into singles as well. If this was strictly on livesets, i think my answer would be more fair. |

u should have seen this site during the AG days..was a thing of beauty..i dunno what happened to change everything..we r sheep..downloading isnt cool so now everyone doesnt download..if you do all hell brakes loose.. |
