Genre's of EDM you just can't get into (pg. 9)

There's no genre you "can't" get into if you have the right drugs. :disbelief

On a serious note, I doubt there's any genre that I'd swear off. I'm open to listen to everything at least once, hence why my collection of music is so huge and random (Ask boomers, it varies from heavy prog to funky house to trance to even some psy and jungle etc etc). Depends on my mood, I suppose. Besides, I wouldn't say I can't get into anything, because your tastes in music evolve over time. House might just get you guys yet! ;)

The only genre that makes my blood cringe is Christian music. (Christian rock, rap, pop- whatever) and that's because I'm not Christian. The only genre other than that I've had difficulty listening to is Jazz, but I can't even swear that off, because I like Kennny G.

forms of music i would ban if i ruled the world....

Circus Metal...... dont ask, its just horrible
gangsta rap
rnb/hiphop... just plain awful
candy pop like spears, timberlake etc etc

you cant just ban pop because it encompases everything popular by defenition.

gabber and hardstyle would inevitably be banned, but not until i had taken out the above.

i would keep jungle/drum n bass, but i would outlaw being a junglist... since they are tools by defenition.

house and prog can stay tho, since in the words of beavis and butthead, "you need things that suck to keep the cool stuff cool"
Ultraphu
hardhouse
Danny Ocean
anything over 140 BPM, i cant get into.

Maybe so, but they all have that watered-down "diet" progressive sound, which seems to be all the rage in EDM these days. Take a listen to the prog tracks from 2000-2002 and compare them to the releases this year. I think you'll see a difference.

IMO, it's been such a disappointing year for the progressive genres. Too much quantity and not enough quality, although there have been a few gems this year, so it's not all bad.

...Just my opinion.
