Uh no, actually that is not racism, racism is the belief that one race is superior to another.
"Centering out one race" is not racism in the slightest, and it's very unfortunate the number of people I see day to day who seem to think it is. |

To not talk about the differences between cultures is stupid. Asians are not different from other people because of what they look like but because of where they are from. 99.999 % of the time, the characteristics of a certain culture comes from a person who looks like most of the people from that culture. Therefor to talk about how "asian" people at a club act, party or interact with others is not racism unless you start belittling them based soley on the way they look or their culture.
If i stood here and said "all asian people at clubs are really nice" that would be an acceptable comment to most people. However, if i said "asian people at clubs are all crackheads" then all of a sudden its racism?
Either both comments are racist or they are not.
If i sat here and said "asian people are idiots and we shouldnt hang out with them." and actually act on that notion... THAT would be racist.
To highlight differences among groups both positive and negative is not racist. Its identifying that different groups of people from different cultures tend to have different behavioural and social patterns. And yes, that's not always a positive thing either.
Let me end with the incredible notion of racism i possess in saying that EVERY SINGLE asian person i have ever met at a club in Toronto has been super friendly to me. Now if only we can get them some dance lessons!! :)

I'm usually the first person to laugh at a good joke about a culture, and I think some people are way too sensitive. But this thread has gone too far IMO. It's pretty nasty actually, whatever "-ism" you want to call it.
What if there was a thread like this about black ppl? You could expect it to make CNN, of course after TA got shut down and the riots stopped. |

| dont know what to say about this thread, but i dont think its entirely racist but there is something not quite right about it. yes alot of downtown clubs are asians on friday and maybe not so on saturdays, why should that matter to anyone anyway? lets just all go out to have a good time and not care about what race is where:toocool: |
