well then, you can also see the other side of the tie-stay on his right side. along with some video artifact going across the tops of his left fingers.

Well I'll accept that the tie-stay is by his left fingers, as you pointed out, but is that to say that the 2nd 1/2 of his tie fell out of the tie-stay? If so, I'll go with that too. But that still doesn't answer my conspiracist question as to why his 2nd 1/2 of his tie is so, err umm, (*chuckle*) cable thin. I mean, sheesh, that 2nd smaller half looks like you could practically floss your teeth with it, man! So wassup wi'dat?
Q5echo
well it's obviously blurry due to the quality of the video, combined with the quality of the capture. essentially, we're dealing with a frame capture of 480 lines of interlaced resolution during motion. you'll get most of the image (but not all) then some bleed over from the previous frame. poor quality in other words.

it looks as if the tie-stay, if it is a tie-stay, connects to the trousers right above the right and left belt loops.

i think it's safe to say that anything having to do with the safety and security of the President, the Secret Service will mis-inform.

Bush threw out the first pitch at our new baseball stadium in Milwaukee a few years ago. He wore a vest, and when he threw out the pitch, you could really see it. The press asked about it, the Secret Service denied it.
Q5echo
naturally. it's just good policy and completely understandable.

So we're all agreed. If it was anything it was a vest and MisterOpus1 is wrong. :D
ResonantDrag
and the wire is part of his clip-on tie.:p

Mr. Opus you are hilarious! Well at least with paranoid ppl like you around there is always something to laugh about. However, if you ever hope to get ppl to take you seriously you need to clear you head out first. The serious conspiracy theorists are a bit more rational. I have not read this whole thread but half of it and I love it! I think if Pres. Bush even picks his nose the wrong way, to people like you it's part of a conspiracy! LOL. Ooops, better not give you any more wacky ideas lol! :eyes:

First, I completely agree that the Pres. is wearing body armor. Wouldn't you if you were the pres. and responsible for killing many terrorist around the world??! I certainly would. Did you see an earpiece in his ear too???? how else was he going to hear anything without that??? huh??

As far a the tie thing, give me a friggin break. Ever thought that maybe it could be a wire, thats right!! ever notice he was using a remote mic in that photo??? maybe its part of the mic transmitter. Or again it could just be his tie! Oh but that isn't as mysterious and exciting hmmm... oh well. welcome to reality.

Boy this little issue sure got you conservatives' pantyhose all bunched up, didn't it? Ya see, this is why I come here! Why is this riling you guys up so much? You really think this is a pertinent issue? Are you guys actually worried that this will take center stage? Or are we arguing just for argument sake? Hey, I'm game, but just keep in mind what I said earlier:

Anyways, no, I don't deem it as terribly pertinent, nor do I think it will go very far. So don't worry, I doubt the liberal bloggers will get your man much further on this.

Still kinda fun, though. :D

Oh, BTW, welcome to the political forum, sir. ;)

Hmm, that made sense, uhh, I think.

Well, now that I think of it, he could be just adjusting his receiver that's stuck waaay up in his nose.

That or he's just trying to wipe off the coke flakes off his nose. Can't really tell without a good closeup. :D

Hey technolover, did ya catch this little BBC tidbit earlier in the thread?:

quote:
The Bush campaign dismissed the claims, saying it was just a wrinkle in the presidential jacket.

It also denied some web reports that Mr Bush was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

Happy reading!

Oh, and BTW, even if Bush did have a vest on, shouldn't that also logically imply that Kerry should be wearing one too? Sooo, why do we not see one on Kerry?

I certainly would. Did you see an earpiece in his ear too???? how else was he going to hear anything without that??? huh??

Maybe it's up his nose?

Seriously, well 1/2 seriously, there are earpieces that are incredibly small and thin and are not noticeable in TV Land. That's just modern technology.

Strictly against the rules, and they do not allow a remote mic anyway because of possible interference with the mic they are holding. It also helps keep them from speaking out of turn. The only mic they have was the one they were holding.

A cable thin tie? You ever see a second 1/2 of a tie so thin? Eh?

Are you okay? You wanna cup of warm milk or somethin'? Goodness, you really should calm down over this! People might think you Bush-supporters are panicking or somethin'. Really now, it's okay if your man needs a little help. That's nothin' new from the past 4 years or anything. :D
